NHL 2022 Season
Not sure if we have any hockey fans in here.. but figured I would try.
Dallas Stars are going pretty good to start this year. They look a lot better under Peter DeBoer. They are no longer purely dump and chase.. they barge into the zone and setup. They are scoring a lot more. The big thing is they are bad in taking penalties. PK has been pretty good but we take too many dumb penalties that have cost us a few times.
Robo has been fucking amazing. Currently leading the league in scoring. He just finds a way to score.. always aggressive. Im glad we signed him to 4 years. Otter had a great start to the season and is still great. Continuing what he started in game 7 this past summer. Jim Nill signed the core of our young stars to good contracts: Robo to 4, Otter to 3 years I believe, Hintz to 8 years, Miro to 8 years as well.
Still to early in the season but I like our chances. There have been times when we were down by so much people thought we had no chance but they pull some magic. They fight to the end. No lead is safe here. I still have to go to a game this year.. not sure when but it will happen. I also want to buy one of the new reverse retro jerseys.

Your hockey fans need you...
Man where is Wile E Coyote when you really need him?
And don't forget to post those pics you took of the Dallas Stars Chearleaders.

Hockey, WNBA are on the same level, nobody watches both, I rather watch a marathon on making the Dallas cheerleader. A lot of fine bodies on there

Love hockey!!! I grew up in SoCal so I’m a big Kings fan. Unfortunately they’re not in the same division anymore.
Since I’ve been living here I’ve become a Stars fan also…..mostly because the kings games don’t start until 9/9:30 our time so I don’t get to watch them as much. Also, they’ve sucked for a few years. Lol.
Robertson is awesome and is just gonna get better. Pure goal scorer!!!
I love the extension with Roope too. Dude can skate with the best of them.
Just hope that otter lives up to the expectations. Being a Kings fan, they went through goalies like most people change their underwear. Even Johnathon Quick wasn’t very good until they got a Solid Defense……Matt Greene and Willie Mitchell. Great stay at home defensemen.
Anyway. Most people, (blm) don’t understand hockey so they don’t appreciate the greatness of it until they see a game live and in person.

Sadly but true. Its more exciting than NBA games to me. Definitely more exciting than baseball games. And nothing beats it live.
I hope Otter lives up to it. Im hoping, just like Robo, he can only get better from here.

NHL does not translate well to TV viewing and it's not a talking sport like MLB.
Nothing better than going to a MLB game and talking Baseball and teams with the guy next to you who in the 1st inning was a stranger and by the 8th inning your talking Hank Aaron and Mike Young.
Definitely watching a game LIVE is 100X better than TV. To watch NHL on TV I gotta place a 100 bet on it.
NFL especially Cowboys I hate going to the Stadium prefer to sit at home and watch it.

I have to disagree.. NHL can translate well on TV if your commentators are good and Dallas Stars have two great ones.
I grew up as a kid liking baseball.. but over time it just got boring. Its ok watching in person, but still not something I prefer to do. Going to watch NHL and NFL games in person is fun to me. Went to NY to the Giants/Cowboys game and had a blast (helps we won that one too lol).

I've heard the NHL games are exciting live, I've been to NBA games live but prefer them on TV with the slow motion playback and commentators.
Still the NBA, NFL and the MLB have a larger fan base than the NHL

Yup cant argue that fact, NHL does have a lower fanbase. The last strike really hurt it too and they have been recovering since.
Ive been to a couple of NBA games and other than the energy of being in the crowd, I too prefer watching NBA on TV.

Haha.. Jamie would do it too.
Robo had an amazing night.. nice Hat Trick.. first goal was lucky.. but the other 2.. damn this kid has some aim. Just hope he can keep this heat going for a while. He is playing out of his mind right now.
Otter gets a shutout for his 50th career win.
One thing I noticed this year compared to last.. they are not sitting back and turtling in the 3rd with a lead. They are still very aggressive in the offensive end and I love it. DeBoer is using these players right.. using their talents correctly.

I used to watch when they were on KDFI 27. If they had a dedicated channel that didn't require 20 upsell packages on Satellite i would consider watching them again.
My first boss out of college was a huge Cowboys fan and all the kiss ass sycophant employees were by proxy.
I've hated football and NFL fanatics ever since.

Last year sucked because of that. At least this year, I can pay to just have Ballys Sports Plus or w/e they are calling it. Another fucking subscription service but I get to watch Mavs and Stars.. but plan on canceling at the end of the Stars season.

Just saw a comparison of Robo's and McDavid's first 152 NHL games. He measures up really well. Stars have stumbled onto a major talent.
