Since when is a different point of view hijacking a thread??
Do we now have parameters for opinions...?...really?

A friend of mine gets points for hijacking a thread and for the life of me I have read and re-read and I can't find the hijack..and while we're on the subject, what is with all of the recent closings?..Are we really that sensitive? It seems anymore that if a Mod disagrees with an opinion..the thread gets locked..

I totally agree MalWoody. These guys are off the reservation. Closing my threAD? Now BCD won't be able to come up with some more of his authentic frontier gibberish. Plus I happen to know he was busy securing other members to support him. I wonder if Modda pointed KraptKicker for hijacking that threAD?

Agreed. Let the threads die a natural death or let them keep going for as long as the discussion is continuing.

We should "all" try to do the very best to follow the "guidelines". I thinck that should include the mods as well. They are board members just like us. Put in authoritative positions!

I am not normally for closing threads but when they become pissing contests I think it's justified. When threads stray as far from the original topic as these last two did and become an argument/pissing contest between 2 or 3 people it's time for them to go away.

Malwoody ol'buddy.....I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on this one. As for the points....I don't know the whole story so I will steer clear of that issue.

Just the thoughts of a lost and rambling mind.

That really isn't a mod's function, though. There is actually something to be gained by letting them go. In one instance you closed it actually gave a great deal of insight into how certain providers think much more than a review would. I agree with Malwoody. You were wrong, too quick on the trigger and it's that simple. I have the same point of view on some of the banned people. There was nothing so terrible that one couldn't live with it. But then I spent a lot of time in the principal's office when a boy, so my point of view may be a little different. Lol

Different opinions are what make the world go around Bartipero. While I respect your view, we obviously disagree on a couple of things.

First, I disagree with you on the duties of a Moderator. Unless something has changed drastically since my days as a Mod/Admin (always possible but I hope not), part of the job was/is to keep at least some level of civility on the board. This type of thing is a judgment call. Obviously I think Modda's decision to close both threads was correct.

Second, while I agree that watching what/how providers post can provide some valuable insight I believe there is a point of diminishing returns. Again, it's a judgment call, one I think Modda (I think it was him that closed both threads....LOL) nailed.
