Gear oil failures in windmills
Here are some photos of what happens when transmission failure occur in windmills.
To date, no gear oil has been invented to withstand the pressures produced within these transmissions.
Most recently, the government gave Texas A&M Electrical Engineering Department a big grant to work on it.
Previously, many others had tried and failed. This line is between Dumas and Claude in the Texas Panhandle.
So basically wind power has its own share of problems and high failure rate as well. I wonder how many of the fires we are suffering here in Texas have been caused by this?

You know denisrn you bring to mind and interesting thought. I thought wind power was supposed to pollute and yet I wonder how much a burning windmill adds to the carbon footprint? And is it really a clean burning energy?

Ooooh that girl in the gas mask is kinda hot. And since she is the only one on the beach wearing a gas mask, I can only assume that she is into some kinky, wild and fun sex! Also, the last photo in all of its oily goodness reminds me, I have a fish-fry to attend next week. Thanks for the post! LOL

Really Rodram you have to play a race card? I never once said a thing about promoting oil. I placed a few photos showing there is something of a down side to wind energy that never gets shown and when a viable lubricant (which will probably be petroleum based but that is beside the point right now) it will perform much better. The only thing I added was a musing about the fire factor that I made an educated guess about.
But no...... You have to go on a personal attack. You vacuous neobolshivik jackass! Get a freaking life!!!!!!

Disagree with my ideas. Argue with me on opinion and policy. Prove me wrong with empirical evidence but make a personal attack on me and I don't care who it is I will come after you! And being called a racist pushes my buttons like no other!
