Nola Location suggestions
When I come in to Nola I always stay in the French quarter. I'm wondering if I stayed in the Metairie area if that would be just as fine? In the FQ parking is limited and not free. Any suggestions?

Locals probably prefer Metairie for the reasons you mention: parking & ease of access. Tourists do better w/girls in the Qtr. b/c it's walking distance to where the vast majority of them are staying. Either way expect to hear plenty of whining from whichever group is not most convenient to you! (I'd prefer Metairie).

Not me. I hate those airport hotels, they seem so impersonal, and some of them are dumps. It seems like you always hear "HOUSEKEEPING!!" at just the wrong moment, LOL

Some of Metairie is fine, but I agree with GB to stay away from Kenner and the airport hotels. That is just too far away from downtown, and would make it less likely to get someone to travel out that way. Around Causeway in Metairie is fine. I like that to and from work. Convention center area is great for 2 hour parking, lots of meters, yet still close to the Canal St and FQ hotels. FQ works for me too, as that is walking distance.

Hmm ok so it sounds like convention center may be a lil better choice than Metairie? Another thing hotels with no cameras, or less cameras. Nola seems to be pretty good about that but Ill have to do some more research

Before booking, call the hotel and ask if key cards are required for guest room access. Some do, some don't, but more and more are doing that these days.

Okay dumb question ... why would a keycard matter? Are you talking about if ... a client would need a keycard to get in the elevator or to get into the hotel?

Tell you what, the Modern in the CBD in a dump. The Queen and Crescent is nice, with paid parking around for hourly. Check with the hotels in the Quarter about valet parking cost as it can be up to $30. which some may not want to pay.

A, without the access key for the elevator. You have to wait for another guest with a key to get elevator to get the Lift moving. CA

Or the girl would have to meet you by the elevator and escort you up.

Those aren't unusual anymore. Most girls do have them these days - especially short women.
