KC Chiefs
[Well now that Peyton Manning is no longer a "Colt", do you think he will agree to come to Kansas City? They need to get rid of Cassel, have Orton as a back up and get a quarterback who has won two superbowls. They need to spend the money for a better offensive line also. So what do you think?

I think the chances of Peyton coming to KC are about 10-1. Several NFL analysts rate the Dolphins as the best choice (because of the warm weather, the fact that Reggie Wayne and Jeff Saturday could come with Peyton and fit under the cap) and Arizona as 2nd choice (the above 2 reasons plus 10 games a year in controlled environments (domes) and Larry Fitzgerald as your #1.

Assuming PM is healthy, I think its a long shot, but if it happens they would keep Cassel as the backup since he already has a contract at less than what Orton would want. I doubt if PM would want to play in the KC cold weather outdoor stadium, and he has better weather options on the table. The plusses are that KC does have a decent defense, plenty of cap space to improve the o-line, and one decent receiver. If we beefed up the o-line & get Jeff Saturday @ center, brought in Wayne and Garcon to go along with Bowe, he might be willing to consider it if he can have the type of offensive control that he requires. The other big question is how good a running game is KC going to have, can JC really recover from his surgery and play at a high level?

The only knock on KC is weather and Manning doesn't perform well in cold/outdoor weather when it matters. I believe the stat I saw the other day was Manning is 0-3 in January when playing out doors... Not a good stat line if he is a Chief.
Don't get me wrong, I would love for Manning to become a Chief, but some issues do concern me.

Overall, I agree there are lots of issues, including whether or not Hunt would even consider spending that much money to improve the team. If they are willing to spend that kind of money, there are lots of things they could do that would make a difference whether they get PM or not. If they don't do something to make it look like they are a franchise that is interested in winning a championship instead of settling on just being competitive in a bad division, there will be lots of empty seats in the stadium. I think Chiefs fans are getting very tired of mediocrity.

I agree with EZ in that if KC doesn't do something real soon there will be a lot of empty seats at Arrowhead. Although the Chiefs do draw a lot of people, locals are getting tired of spending hard earned dollars, especially in a sluggish economy, increased parking fees etc., and only would good franchise players increase the continuance of the Chiefs.

top 8 reasons he won't come to KC. I need 2 more
8 We couldn't name a hospital after him
7-WHO IS THE HEAD COACH? another crony from THE BROWNS with 24-40 record
6-Bowe can't catch the ball when it hits him in the hands
5- He would have a hall of fame quarterback analyzing his every move and he didn't have anyone doing that in Indy
4-He could never live up to Joe Montana's best 2 minutes of football even Joe and the "Chefs" choked in playoffs
3-We would not buy him a sliding roof and he wont play in the cold without it
2-He wants to be the first super bowl winning quarterback to win a superbowl with 2 teams Even I say that's not possible in KC we choke in the playoffs...
1-#18 is already retired

And the Hunts are going to keep it that way. I rate the chance of PM coming to KC as ZERO!
He would be an exciting addition, but he'll have better options thrown at him then what the Hunt's would be willing to do.

I blame the voters in Jackson County for #3. That was on the ballot four or five years ago when the stadium improvements were approved. Had the sliding dome been approved, we would have had the Super Bowl this year instead of Indianapolis and we would have had a better chance of landing Peyton than we currently do.
Stupid, cheap ass fuckers...but I digress.

If you were a 36 year old QB off a vertebrate fusing, would you want to play behind that O line? Even if he had the 30 year old Manning quick release, he is still going to take hits every snap with the current protection.

The latest news is that he is going to visit Denver, Arizona, and Miami. He probably never even gave serious consideration to the dysfunctional Chiefs.

Maybe the cheap ass fucker tax payers in Jackson County are tired of paying for a sport that only the rich arrogant pricks in Johnson County can afford to watch. I am just saying

And if the rich arrogant pricks in Johnson County built a stadium for the Chiefs to play in (or team up with the mofos in Wyandotte County to build a stadium near the Speedway), then the cheap ass fuckers in Jackson County would be bitching and moaning all the way to Jeff City because they'd be losing all that tax revenue from concession sales, player salary earning tax, ticket sales, etc.

Were not talking about the government, I doubt very seriously that the average tax payer would give a crap about any of that. Maybe the rich pricks in Johnson county could approve a bi state stadium tax and then they might have a right to say something about how the stadium operates. I wish you Johnson county pricks would build a stadium in Kansas, then I can set my cheap ass at home and watch it free like the johnson county pricks have for years.
