Cool Areas to stay away from?

Trying to figure out where a good place in New Orleans would be.
Any suggestions?

Lower garden district, French Quarter, Warehouse District, CBD....For Hotels.

Deanies Seafood, The Ruby Slipper, Acme Oyster house, Landry's restaurant, The Chop House, Harrah's Casino Buffet, Oceana Grill, Bourbon House, Cafe Du Monde, Katies Mid-City, Neyow's in Mid-City...

Just a few places to eat....

Also go to Frenchman St. Blue Nile, Snug Harbor for Jazz music...

Big TIP, don't eat a lucky dog... Go to Dat Dog on Frenchman st. if you want a gourmet hotdog and such..

Have fun and Welcome..

Stay away from the Entire new orleans East. Mainly at night.
Also stay away from Esplanade, St Bernard, Broad st or Claiborne at night. Driving through is okay..

Bourbon is fun but over rated. Try Decatur. Less clutter more sites and nice markets and restaurants....

Best hotels are in the CBD area. Nice hidden condos in the french quarters if you prefer to rent a condo...

There's Nice bar in hotel Monteleon. Great music, vibe and drinks.

Try Mortons steakhouse...my favorite place to eat downtown

Ninth ward gets a bad rep but its actually not that bad. You can still see how the city use to look before the storm bc the hardly fixed anything if your looking for a bit more city nostalgia...And stay off tulane at night too lol

But also try Ernst cafe off poydras or magazine Street
Best poboys are Gene's and Parkway bakery...I like parkway bakery in Midcity bc I can take a walk afterwards and the neighborhood is nice and it's close to city park

Holy tebow! Are you trying to kill the okielady?

Oceania Grill was on Kitchen Nightmares. Cafe du Mond is nothing but a tourist trap. Landry's is a chain, not even a good chain. Acme Oyster House is nothing but over priced fried crap.
