There was a documentary on NGC that claimed that almost all escorts (like 90%) had pimps, even those who worked for escort services. It looks like the documentary was mostly set in Vegas.

Is this true?

I can only speak for myself. I have ALWAYS worked independently for and by myself. Except when I worked with a couple of other girls a few years ago. That we worked independently, just shared an apartment. Now I ride solo. But that's just me. I can't speak for anyone else.

It really depends on the definition of pimps. Are people who manage schedules, phone calls, locations considered pimps, or manager or agent or driver or bodyguard? They are paid for their service, I bet.

Or are you referring to the stereotypes of feather in hand, violent / abusive money grabbing individuals?

I'd take a guess at saying that sounds about right. Maybe a little high but if you really think about it for a second...Think of how many providers are in Dallas. Counting all the eros, backpage, amps, agencies, spas, etc. That's a lot of ladies! Compare the numbers to the small group of us that come on here to freely discuss, rant, rave, market, etc however we see fit bc we are the only ones in charge of us. Granted, not all independent providers post in discussions and not all managed ladies are prohibited from posting but many of the ladoes who post frequently are independent.

So even then, considering that, I'd bet totally independent ladies make up about 20% (at most) of the overall provider population - and I'm talking just here in Dallas - one of the meccas in the industry. Get into a more difficult area and I'm sure a lot of fuckable business savvy women are savvy enough to know its not safe to do in their home town - especially the city of Las Vegas. Girls who don't have many other options might feel more secure with a manager/pimp.

I wouldn't throw that 90% estimate out the window thats for sure.

I would have to agree with THN that you would have to consider the whole picture and not just here on Eccie. On BP I would say a higher percentage than here or on p411. But make no mistake they are on here.

You'll be surprised..some people are jus not capable of managing anything including themselves. And this is a very rough business that will drain a woman mentally & physically

I would agree but would say about 3 out of every 4 girls is managed in some ways- some hide it a lot better and than you have the obvious cases. I would say the younger the age the higher the chances. Let's be realistic when you go on backpage or the welcome wagon and you see an 18 or 19 year old girl posting there's a high probability that she has a pimp or manager. I mean realistically some of these girls are not far removed from high school and I doubt very seriously that at 18 some high school girl is saying :" you know what forget about college when I graduate I am going to jump online and become an escort.' Who told these girls about Eccie ? How would they know about the rates ? How did they become fluent with the acronyms? Answer to all 3 is someone is managing them - same goes with strippers majority not all of them are connected to a pimp.

But rest assured whenever money is involved someone will be trying to get some of it for free, that makes congress the ultimate in pimp coolness.

It's hard for anyone to be independent in any business thanks to those pimps.
