Default New number? Area code matter?

Looking at getting a new phone number but having problems getting a local area code. Does that matter? Does a Dallas or Austin area code matter if you are residing in west texas? Any red flags thrown up or is it maybe better to distant your number from your stomping grounds?

That's the problem Tex! GV has run out of local numbers and they are talking about shutting down google voice or enveloping it into a program called hangouts. 806/432/214 area codes are all gone and from my research they aren't making new numbers!

I think in this day an age there are so many people with #s from different ACs it doesn`t matter.

Ting is not a private service. They are just another billing company. They use Sprint network.

Right you are sir. My hobby phone costs 12 a month and with no sim card and no sd card is just a 44 oz drink drop away from being a brick.
They actually use sprint with free roaming on Verizon and other networks.
