Where were Sarah and George?
The two biggest Republican names in the past decade....totally MIA at the RNC. Not only not present....not even mentioned. Anybody wonder why? The repukes want no reminders of the ridiculously bad choices that they've made in the past? And, I don't blame 'em.
Even Fox news pulled Sarah's spots during the RNC.....poor thing.

I'm beginning to think the FOX (Roger Ailes) has had his fill of Sarah and would rather she just disappear.
George is happy in retirement and would just as soon stay out of the spotlight and not be reminded of his failures as President. Jeb has been out there defending him, but he's just trying to shore up the Bush name in case he runs in 2016.

I can't believe it; but I want to thank Timmboy for this thread.......
It is shameful that Fox cancelled Palin..another reason to dump your cable (satellite) TV.......most I know are smart enough and don't need the talking head analysts to filter the news.......stream programming thru the internet using Roku, Boxee, or Sony TV.
As for the Bush's. They got some tributes, but the less the better. Both Bush's were horrible presidents, especially George W.
As a side note, any comment on Jeb Bush's speech ? I thought it was a self serving piece of crap; he spoke more about himself and Florida than he did Romney. God spare us from being subjected to Bush (round 3) !

Oh, I don't think it would have mattered if Shrub had wanted to participate....the repukes want everybody to forget what a disaster their last administration was....see Whirlydip's comment.
You didn't support Shrub, right Whirly? Or you just don't want anybody to examine your track record of supporting candidates who turned out to be idiots? Never mind, we know the answer.

I did not vote for Bush (I or II).
I have posted many many times that Bush was a terrible president......so how you say I want to hide that fact is beyond me...note to TImmyboy, I am calling it a fact that Bush was a terrible president ! You don't get any arguement from me on that point.

No, not at all. I think Eastwood provided a jovial poke at Obama for the crowd.....I don't think it distracted those who wanted to listen and maybe learn.
The potency of the Eastwood bit is in the twitter responses of the left; they went apocalyptic, meaning Eastwood hit a nerve with his remarks....the empty chair was clever, and in many ways allowed Romney to take the high road and let Eastwood take whatever heat the left tweekers had........
Reading some of the conservative blogs (NOT ECCIE) after the Eastwood bit, I was suprised that many conservatives were offended by some of Eastwood's joking ("can't tell him to do that to himself" )...but nothing that was damaging to Romney.

All the Dems that are running this year have been advised to stay away from their own convention.

The left has always made Palin much more relevant than anyone else.
I dont think she was nominated for anything, was running for anything, or had anything to do with what was goind on there.
President Bush is not running for anything either and understands better than some former Presidents that it is better to sit back and let others have the limelight.
I find it fascinating that Obama uses a convicted liar to ask for votes in his campaign ads.
