With almost 125,000 settlement checks mailed this week to east bank residents and businesses for flood damage from hurricanes Katrina and Rita, we're just wondering: What are you going to do with that money? Most claimants in the litigation were expected to receive checks for $50 to $150. The highest payment was to be about $6,000. So are you going to treat yourself to lunch or supper? Replace that favorite piece of clothing you bought after the 2005 storms? Or buy something really symbolic like a wet/dry vacuum?
I've given this a lot of thought. Like so many I was impacted directly and hard by Katrina. I was fucked by FEMA. I was fucked by insurance. I was fucked by an employer. I survived, fought hard and fought my way back. Doesn't mean I wasn't fucked. So I am going to end this chapter of my life the same way it started. I am going to put it towards this hobby. I am going to take whatever our settlement check is and use it to get FUCKED again by one of you!!!
Thank you ladies of ECCIE and let's do it right!!!
