Providing is a lonely Job
After being in the hobby a while I have gotten to know some of the ladies pretty well. I really like these gals and admire their street smarts and companion skills. They often have good gift of gab and a sense of humor.
A lot of these gals spend a lot of time alone. They go to a strange city and wait for
clients. They have a hard time being friends with other providers for many reasons. They can't share what they do with family or old friends. When the do it often back fires on them. They can't be friends with clients too much. It gets tricky and cost income.
It seems odd that a person that makes their living being a companion is
really kind of alone. I do know that they help me be a little less lonely.

If providing was a lonely job, one would have no business.
Otherwise, life in general can get lonely at times, but it gives us a good reason to cherish and enjoy the people that come into our lives.
Carpe Diem!

That's what happens when the only commodity you have to sell is your time. Don't kid yourself she's not your friend because you're a sweet guy. She likes the Dead Presidents in your back pocket. When they disappear so does the friendship you thought you had. Atleast until you have enough money to become friends again for another hour.

Hey epim, we all sell our time. I'm not sure what you do for work, but unless it's doctors without borders.. I don't think you would do it sans paycheck either.
To the OP - some of us enjoy our alone time. Some of us are beyond active. I don't think that I spend much time sitting around doing nothing. When I travel it's not only for work - it's for fun. I go see sights, concerts, beaches, parks, etc.. Day to day I do a lot of things.. I volunteer, I donate to charities, and I have tons of hobbies.
If any of us are lonely to a point that it's depression, we can easily change that.

Taint is timeless. Taint can cure depression and loneliness.

If you make providing your entire life then I can see where it might be lonely. I have a real job, real family, real friends, real pets, real hobbies, real lovers, etc.,
Not lonely at all!

Pyramider, we should get you on TV to preach the "Gospel of Taint". Like on TBN or something. Haahahahaaaaa...that would build a serious Hobby Roll.

I agree with diddleman. Whether we are correct or not remains to be seen. But I aways ask if they want to get a meal or if I can do anything for them. just in case they are lonely and tired of looking at 4 walls.

+1 on taking a regular out to lunch after a date. Just to thank them for their time.

Yep, I agree with Alyssa Marie, BSB and Katrina. If you live a balanced life, you will never feel lonely. I have real family, real friends, real hobbies, real dates, real everything. And I do enjoy my alone time going to Houston or Austin. I dine alone, I go to the spa, I meet new friends on the tennis courts, etc. I also enjoy spending time with friends.
It's only lonely if you let it to be.

It's more empathy than feeling sorry Alyssa.

I don't understand the concept of "lonely".

No one is saying to not have your thoughts.. You're just not hearing the answers that you were looking for.. Oh well.
But it's silly to think that we are all lonely with no lives.. what if we thought you were all a certain thing?
Planojim - are you saying you're lonely so you're trying to understand our pain? The difference between sympathy and empathy is so small sometimes.. But if we are not really lonely like one may think.. There isn't a way to be empathetic with us.
