While the guy is an idiot, false reporting isn’t funny. I know you were trying to be humorous, but...
I do wonder if they give you a diploma suitable for framing after completing John School. Add that accomplishment to your Linkedin profile...
EDIT: And I think Saint E’s analysis a couple posts below is accurate, to be on the serious side. Think they are targeting the Indy Ave car dates.

I think this is targeting the Johns that drive up and down Independence Ave looking for "street walkers".

So if there's a picture of a cop car on indy av stopped by any pedestrian (lets be fair to all valued community members), that license plate pic will cause the jkco prosecutor to issue a letter to leo?
Frankly, I see at least one constitutional violation, and we could start a betting pool on when 1st lawsuit will get filed (as soon as those warning letters start).

Just making a goof. Not actually saying anyone should.
As for the certificate, I would love a diploma from Hooker University. ERP would be a bachelor of art. I think we would all love to major in Hooker Studies. But you know. No minors. Major course load only

Although expired long ago, does a licensed private investigator paper issued by state x, and/or city y, and sponsored by strip club "z" (that's what they wanted for a bouncer) count?
Asking for a friend.

Hey UC,
Don't this sound a lot like what happened a few years ago up north when LE first got the plate readers?
They drove through the parking lots and then sent out letters to anyone that lived locally,
but they fucked up by sending a letter to the DA who was visiting a witness... he pretty much handed their asses to them and they never used the plate reader like that again.
It's just another scare tactic... I don't think they would like the legal ramifications if they send one of those letters to the wrong person. AGAIN

Yup, and there were lawsuits.
Happened in other cities also.

Exactly,
Nice one EE
As a side comment, although hotels don't mind patrol cars circling, one of those situations more than a decade ago came to an abrupt halt when a leo accompanied a jr prosecutor into a hotel and asked to look up a vehicle registrations of guests. Both were stunned when itty bity thin as a rail desk clerk asked for the search warrant. They tried to harass her. She stood firm. She was promoted a week later.
Even before then I was recommending traveling hobby folks consider rental cars.

Sorry Carp: but you missed it this time. When was the last time anyone could rent a car without a credit card. That card is now on file.
The last time I heard of anyone renting a car for cash, or check was in the 60s.
In the 80s, when I was a manage for a Fortune 500 company, we has an employee in a bad wreck in a rental car. It took the police less than 15 minutes after the wreck to be there, access the file and call me at my office. We had someone at the hospital in less than an hour from the time of the wreck. It took the ambulance about 45 minutes to get him to the hospital. We had his wife at the airport and on a plane to go see him in about two hours.
The point, the police can get just about any information, if they really want it.

Oddly, “John’s” and “victims” are mentioned but the perpetrators or victimizers, that is managers, controllers, pimps, the real “traffickers”, the profiteers of the trade, go unmentioned!?
Weird, ain’t it?
