Any good suggestions for getting the best exchange rate for USD to CAD? I might take a trip to ker st.

GWN casinos give the best rates and usually take only one point off the going daily rate.

You always get the best rates up North.

USD to CAD =X ... 1.3600 ...current rate right now.

Thanks everyone! Some of you might like to know that AAA does currency exchange at the full exchange rate. Just something I learned while researching this.

Called up the AAA office in Amherst NY and was told as of last November AAA stopped doing all currency exchanges. AAA worker I spoke with said they don't know why this service was stopped.

Ask the provider if she will take USD. Some will do it and some won't. Those that will just google the conversion which is at that days rate.

Have done that with a few regs over the years because they shop/visit/vacation in the USA lots and like saving USD to avoid having to do any exchange on their future visits here. However overall it can become a PIA and may diminish from the hobby experience. Have found it just better to use CAD to avoid this further negotiating from happening.

Exchange rates:

It's a transaction based thing, remember, just handling the item is a time usage thing, so of course there's a cost.

Basically any outfit that has heavy cash flow will have a very nice exchange rate.

The two best rates?
Casinos
Using a credit cards.

Last, swapping Loonies for US (or the reverse) with a fav has been a recurring thing.
