We have to retaliate!
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...y/7685948.html
"KABUL, Afghanistan — A military helicopter crashed in eastern Afghanistan, killing 31 U.S. special operation troops and seven Afghan commandos, the country's president said Saturday.
The Associated Press has learned that more than 20 Navy SEALs from the unit that killed Osama bin Laden were among those lost in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.
The operators from SEAL Team Six were flown by a crew of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. That's according to one current and one former U.S. official. Both spoke on condition of anonymity because families are still being notified of the loss of their loved ones.
One source says the team was thought to include 22 SEALs, three Air Force air controllers, seven Afghan Army troops, a dog and his handler, and a civilian interpreter, plus the helicopter crew.
The sources thought this was the largest single loss of life ever for SEAL Team Six, known as the Naval Special Warfare Development Group."

What sucks is we will never know the full story on this. I guess I just have hard time seeing such bad ass mother fuckers lost to a simple crash.
I'm all for pulling all troops and going all rolling thunder on that ass and carpet bomb em till everything is at ground level. So sick of pussy footing this shit it cost to much, cheaper to just kill them all.

I have to agree, but could you see how much trouble Allah would have having to hand out that many virgins in such a short amount of time? He would have to outsouce to Pakistan.

Think about it.....These guys have been kicking ass and taking names over there for ten years.
It is a credit to these men that this is the first time this has happened.
We would dishonor these men by cutting and running over this incident.
I don't believe any of these men would what that to happen.
It amazes me to see how people have forgotten why we are over there.
We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail......so put your big girl panties on!
God bless America.

I thought that this was them retaliating for bin Laden?
war isn't good for anyone, except the warmongers that profit from it.
I have cousins out in the field and want to see them come home.

Oh please!!!! It has been overdue to happen, so, we stay for what? so they can do it again? because they will. It is not a war, we are not fighting a nation. we have been there for 10 years and what have we accomplished? can anyone answer that? put your sentiments to the side and your thinking cap on. They killed 30 americans period, seals, marines, soldiers, civilians it doesn't matter, we need to get this shit over and done and bring our boys and girls home where they belong. And before anyone has any shit to say, I AM VETERAN. 20+ years of honorable service.
And, yes Dali Lama, what are we over there for again?

Well OK. Against whom and how, and who are you referring to as "We"?
The news report is spotty. Was this a planned shoot-down based on frequent betrayals of "Our so called Good Afghan's" who The Administration has sunk several fortunes into their training/pay etc...Or did a lone Taliban (I won't use the non-pc term) get a lucky shot off at a target?
Carter cancelled the Neutron Bomb, but I suspect some warheads are stored somewhere. We could use them against Afghanistan and our Bud's Pakistan (who harbored Bin Laden knowing for years) indiscriminately. We could use conventional nukes and turn both Countries into a sea of glass and see how the World at large responds.
We could round up the populations of several villages and shoot them.
all.
War sucks, I've seen worse.Several Friends of mine are on The Wall in DC. This is a tragedy and the families of these men will never recover. Compared to our other Wars the total casualty count for Ops. in Iraq and Afghanistan have been extremely low. I believe 85% have been to non-combat related incidents. Each death tragic and I morn for everyone of these men and women and for those maimed for life.
How many other American casualties occurred in Theater the same day? I don't know. The only reason this even made the Headlines was because of the Unit involved.
Not jumping the Thread but I'd like to see un-censored film of the WTC attack broadcast everyday at Noon.

Sorry Nktatc I disagree, again, this is not a war against a nation, bombing the crap out of a nation is not the answer and it would certainly would have a repercussion against us from other countries, as much as we may not like their goverments, their cultures, their beliefs or their people, bombing a country for the beliefs of a few is not the answer. If we have a mission to accomplish, let's do it and get out. The problem, in my opinion, is that we have lost sense of the mission and are still there to save face, but the reality is, you can get the the top leadership of the insurgents out and a new leadership will arise. We have won many battles, lost a few (like the latest one) but I believe there is no way for us to win the war, if any of you think that is possible, then you have to accept the loses as much as may not like it, It is a war after all. I again say, bring our boys and girls home. we tried, let's not bleed anymore for a lost cause.

We have to retaliate!
Yes , ok but don't all you people that are for this (stupid war IMHO) feel the need to actually pay for it.
Isn't that the least we could do?
We are in debt up to our ass because we have put this war on credit.
I mean none that are for it are actually running over to go fight it.....but the least you could do would be to quit bitching about taxes and go volunteer to pay for this damn war that so many of you are for.
That is how I see it...
squirrel , TheDali......what say you?
