Truth.
I've never been a huge fan of apples. Growing up we always had Golden Delicious in the house, which I didn't like due to the soft texture. So, I thought I just didn't particularly care for eating raw apples. Then, a couple of years ago, I had my first taste of a Honeycrisp that I had bought to put in my son's lunch. Holy crap was it good! Nice and crisp with the perfect blend of sweetness and tartness, with some great aromatics to boot! I gave my mom a hard time for not ever having 'em growing up, but I just found out that they didn't even exist when I was a kid:

That said, I will also have to respectfully disagree with the OP regarding one apple being "the best". I firmly believe that different apples are better for different things. Some are sweet, some are tart, some taste better after cooking, some are enhanced by certain spices, some have amazing juice, some make perfect applesauce, some are crisp, some are soft... There's just such a variety that I think it's necessary to have a different favorite (which is still a matter of personal preference) for different situations. If you limit yourself to one apple, you're really missing out.
