Default One 2016 GOP Contender Get It

“Having grown up poor, I know that poor people aren’t poor because they want to be,” Huckabee told me, joining the long list of Republicans who can’t seem to run away from Romney fast enough. “They’re not on government assistance because they want to be.”

I always thought Huckabee would be a dangerous candidate. He buys all the extreme social views bullshit, but he's not a hateful person.

Don't be scared of Huck. He's just a real American. He's not gay and he does believe in a Christian God. It's all good...He does not want innocent babies killed but he does respect woman... He's just a good ole country boy.

He buys all the extreme social views is exactly why he is a lousy candidate. It is not that we should be scared of him... It is that we should be scared of what we know he will do. He is one who would have no problem telling others that they can not do the things he doesn't like while supporting what he does. That is exactly what is wrong with politics in this country. We do not have enough people in office who apply the mantra "I do not like what you are saying or doing but I will fight to the death for your right to say or do it."

He does support the FairTax, so that is in his favor. But I don't know where he stands on the Patriot Act and NDAA, and his social views are anti-liberty.

We can do better.

The GOP can do a LOT better. Fortunately, the Huck has no chance. He does seem like a pleasant, well-meaning man.

But he also has that paternalistic attitude that if we put God-fearing folks in office and follow god Christian principles, everything will go well.

Good hearted, yes. But also soft-headed.

The Republicans need to take a note form the Democrats and do what they did; just create a candidate from nothing.

One have thought the GOP would have learned in '92 with Clinton. Yet, they repeat the same errors in '08 and '12.

Right now, he's the most electable Republican that isle who has any chance of winning in the primary.

We saw how nominating "electable" candidates has worked. It's time to try something different.

When? While Romney was the best of a very bad lot, nobody in their right mind thought that he was electable. Or if they said so, it was only in comparison to the truly horrible and grossly unelectable alternatives that were running (save John Huntsman, who would have beaten Obama like a rented mule).

Where have you been hiding? That is the ONLY reason he got the nomination. They thought he was "electable".

But I agree, Huntsman would have been a much better candidate.

There was really no discernible difference between Romney and Obama, except for superficialities. The Republicans need to offer a real difference, or get out of the way.

Well there is another female Gov. that I've heard could be a possible choice. That is NM Gov. Susana Martinez.

Don't let best become the enemy of good.

Every seemed to miss Rubio in Iowa setting fund raising records.
