I think you are partially correct. IF the Reps nominate someone reasonable I will likely go back to voting Republican as I have the vast majority of my voting life. No, I do not have any specific person in mind--I am sure there are a lot of them.

But the hard core zombies are not really Republicans. They may have been at one time, but they are now some different subspecies. They are Trump Cultists. Whether Trump runs or not, if he is around to speak well of some candidate (in other words that candidate has properly groveled at Trump's feet, and Trump is convince he can profit from that person being elected), then the zombies will vote for him.

THEY will be proud to say they are Trump Nuts. They will convince themselves that not only was the election "stolen", but the rioters on Wednesday were actually the aliens escaped from Area 51. And it was only Trump himself who raised his staff, parted the sea, and did a great C. Heston impersonation to kept the aliens from reenacting the Independence Day movie.

One should never underestimate two things in this area:
