806,000 dropped out of work force in April. That will lower "unemployment rate."
I have nothing to doubt that 6.2% is accurate.

Who/what the hell is Shadowstats?
And for the record, Stats-O-Matic has the UE rate at 2.3 and 1.9 percent that last two months. For what it's worth.

Is anyone surprised that the first "mouthbreather" to chant "the numbers are a LIE" was none other than the Patriarch of the Mouthbreather errrr Idiot clan, LexiLiar himself? LexiLiar firmly believes that he never will send his twins boyz JD & IB out to do a Liar's job! Why? Because nobody can lie better than LexiLiar!
And LexiLiar calls himself a Democrat!

With this administration you are free to believe whatever you want.
So, since the UE rate has dropped so dramatically since 2008 I would expect the corresponding numbers of those receiving public assistance such as food stamps would also drop significantly.
It seems as though the numbers are somewhat inverse.
Puzzling, isn't it.

just like 'the weather' was sole the cause of the great .1% GDP in the first quarter? lets see what the the 2nd Qtr brings
sure we had a great jobs report but the Bond Markets rallied yesterday. so that tells you Investors could give two shits about jobs and unemployment they are more concerned with Ukraine and the global impact if this is not contained soon.

Lowest since 2008? That's not news, that's simply when the current president was elected and when unemployment started going through the roof.
Lowest rate in a decade was May and June of 2007 at 4.4% (basic data from US BLS)
And, note that the unemployment count only counts those collecting benefits and does actually exclude those who no longer qualify to collect unemployment (19 weeks max in some states, ignoring the Federal extra weeks add-on that expired) so yes there are shadow unemployed, as there's simply no way to count them.
Thus, 2Dogs has a very valid point, as those folks do stay on the public assistance dole.
However, anyone wanting to discuss unemployment numbers, like the news clip, also needs to include a discussion on inflation. I hate quickies. News clips that is.
The concept of the proven economic model "Philips Curve" indicates that an optimum inflation vs unemployment is a low 5% of unemployment. And we're not even close to being anywhere near there. Large employers, (large enough to have an economist on staff, or consulting, for wages and pricing for customer accounts), understand these things very well, as their business plans usually extend several years, or a decade, or more into the future. These are the folks that know when to tighten their belts, in advance, if they do not like the business environment provided by government. Which includes being forced to pay health insurance companies enormous amounts of funds for employees, including marginal employees that they were thinking of letting go in the first place. So out the door those employees went.

It's never to late for LLIdiot to be drunk.
Who can blame him? What would you do if you were the Patriarch of the Idiot family and the only things you had to show for it were JD, IB and the loyal Lapdog, Gonad the Turdfly!
Hell, that wayward bunch would drive me to drinking too!
