Ways to screen newbies

Out of curiosity what are the best ways to safely screen someone. Obviously by getting handle name and references and such, but my question leans more towards ways to screen someone who has no references or reputation in the industry. I just hear all these bazarr stories of screening gone wrong. I usually am very hesitant to even see new friends without references to begin with but I have done it. I know many well respected providers do it often though so I'm just curious how do other providers screen newbies.

P411 is a nice service as well. They verify a client's information for you.

I second VerifyHim. It's the absolute best screening tool I've ever seen, and I've been around for a bit. You can check so many details with it; it's helped me avoid truly dangerous people.
