Default Bought 100lbs of Annual Rye Grass Seed

I purchased 100lbs of annual rye grass seed from the hardware store.

Anybody else throwing it down on their lawn this year? Seems like it will be a dry winter and I will have to water the seeds unlike last year. I see a lot of businesses already seeding their grass with it, but with no rain, not growing that good yet.

Any recommendations?

Should have put down perennial rye. It’s thinner and you don’t have to mow it every week like annual. Rye does not need as much watering as Bermuda. Annual rye has a higher water content so it can stick to your mower. Either rye will die out in May when the weather gets hot.

I had that problem with the sticking to the mower last year. I am thinking about returning these bags and now going with perennial. Thanks for the feedback!!
