I love wine

I found this website online. I just wondering if anyone had been to any of these wineries. I like wine tastings and try to do so in any states that I visited. Can't ship wines to the state of Oklahoma. But I'm driving this time so, I want to get some wine and bring it home.


Oh, I'm staying in ABQ for a few days then head south to Las Cruces and the old town Mercilla. Which one of these southern wineries would you might be recommended. I would love to know more about it before hand.

I went there a couple of years ago. I don't like wine but I enjoyed myself and the staff was incredibly nice.

Another great website is www.nmwine.com. It has a more complete list of wineries in the state, of which I have been to all of them. I'm not a wine snob or anything like that, I am actually very new to wine drinking. But it made for good weekend trips and a great learning experience. The ones that I would recommend from the member wineries are 1) La Esperanza, they make good wines and great jellies from the same grapes. (note make sure you have their phone number it can be a little difficult to find) 2) Rio Grande, very knowledgable owner/winemaker, nice quant place and good wines. 3) La Vina, nice relaxing location, very good wines. I hope this helps on your travels.

The Santa Fe Wine Festival is this weekend, July 6 & 7. If you get in early on Sunday you could sample the wines of NM in one place.

Oh wow! This sat and sun. I will see. Thanks for the info. I love festivals. I will see if I just come to ABQ on sat and go up to santa fe on sunday for the festival.

I very much like La Vina in Anthony NM, halfway between Las Cruces and El Paso. By coincidence I live about five minutes from there...maybe we should meet for a glass or two?

Thank you for suggestion on wineries. I'm in Santa Fe for wine festival this weekend. Then I have to be in ABQ. I'm not sure if I will head south toward Las Cruces or EL Paso.
I have never been to Colorado. I just look at my map and see that I'm not that far. Perhaps take I 25 to Colorado and cut thru a few places before get back to Oklahoma would be a nice mini vacation.

Never mind, I read something that brewing in Denver, I'm not going that way now. So, will be planning for southern route.
