Default BREAKING NEWS OBAMACARE UPHELD!!!!!!!

Great decision and the right decision by the SCOTUS- this will add plenty of fuel and momentum to Obama and will leave Romney and the GOP with egg on their face since they tried so hard to destroy Obama's signature theme. Now I actually work in the Healthcare field so this is a topic that I know very much about: I don't think the AHA aka Obamacare is perfect but it surely has some good elements in the bill- now all that's left is get rid of the bad and keep the good elements.
By the way can someone please tell me what the GOP health plan was- it
's been 4 years still haven't heard or read their version- was it just leave it as it previously was- meaning if you can't afford it than the hell with you?

Where have you been hiding?

Thanks for including me...even though I have never posted an opinion about the subject.

I hate to tell you this.....But it will only motivate the right to get someone in there to repeal it. It's the very issue that lead to the lefts massive defeats in 2010.

It's a very unpopular law.

It always has been a lose/lose proposition for BO and now it's
permanently stuck around his neck.

It's like winning a ugly person contest......

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHA!!!!!!!!

Dali good to hear from you- but Dali- how can you say this will motivate the right? This was a huge defeat for the right- as I mentioned the law is not perfect- but it has some very good provisions in them but for you to say that this law being upheld will motivate the right is you being very cynical.
This victory has lit a new fire in the Obama administration- has the law been struck down then Romney would have had plenty of ammo since Obama's hallmark was Obamacare- honestly after the economy,Healthcare would have been topic #2 during the Presidential debate.

Romney already was going to have a tough time debating Obama on Obamacare since Obama used Romneycare as the blueprint and the fact that it was upheld how is Romney going to fire back? Even during the GOP primaries both Santorum and Gingrich kept saying how is Romney going to challenge Obama on healthcare???

This is a great day for Obama and the DEMS it was a sweet victory and gives him a huge momentum- had the SCOTUS struck down Obamacare - the DEMS would be in trouble- check the news stations Dali all I see is Obama supporters very happy.

You see guys whay people like Whirlaway, Marshall, COG(to a point) and Iaintlien fail to realize is that why the GOP were playing checkers- Obama was playing Chess. You see all along Obamacare is Romneycare. Until it became Obamacare...then it is evil. It worked in Mass and it will work nationwide.

The veracity of Mitt Romney's cardinal achievement in Massachussetts (that is, RomneyCare) has just received a thumbs up by the highest court in the land - and so has ObamaCare. So, let's just call the two what they are - ObamneyCare. Go, U.S.A.!

You are going to hear the same anger from the right that you heard 2 years ago .

The Right's candidate has always run on repealing the law... not defeating in court but at the ballot box. The polls I've seen says the law is just as unpopular as it was in 2010.

The Right will rally around the repeal of the law.

When the people dont like the laws they vote in people to change them.

If you've started to wonder what the real costs of socialism are going to be - once the full program in these United States hits your wallet, take a look at the table. As you digest these mind-boggling figures, keep in mind that in spite of these astronomical tax rates, these countries are still not financing their social welfare programs exclusively from tax revenues! They are deeply mired in public debt of gargantuan proportions. Greece has reached the point where its debt is so huge it is in imminent danger of defaulting. That is the reason the European economic community has intervened to bail them out. If you're following the financial news, you know Spain and Portugal are right behind Greece.

The United States is now heading right down the same path. The VAT tax in the table is the national sales tax that Europeans pay. Stay tuned because that is exactly what you can expect to see the administration proposing after the fall elections.(If it gets re-elected)The initial percentage in the United States isn't going to be anywhere near the outrageous numbers you now see in Europe.
The current outrageous numbers in Europe didn't start out as outrageous either. They started out as minuscule - right around the 1% or 2% where they will start out in the United States. Magically, however, they ran up over the years to where they are now. Expect the same thing here.

It is the very notion that with hard work and perseverance, anybody can get ahead economically here in the USA. Do you think that can ever happen with tax rates between 60% and 80%? Think again. With the government taking that percentage of your money, your life will be exactly like life in Europe ...
You will never be able to buy a home.
You will never buy a car.
You will never send your children to college.
Let's not shuffle the battle cry of the socialists under the rug either. It's always the same cry. Equalize income. Spread the wealth to the poor (whoever they are). Level the economic playing field. Accomplish that and everything will be rosy.

It's time to take a hard look at reality.
Greece is a perfect example. Despite the socialism system that has ruled this country for decades, with a 65% tax rate, they are drowning in public debt, would have defaulted without hundreds of billions in bailout money from the EU, and still. . .20% of their population lives in poverty. What has all that socialism money bought, besides ultimate power for the politicians running the show?
Do you think these people are "free"? They are slaves to their economic "system."

Instead of spreading the wealth around, spread this info around. It might wake up some people.

True Dali, but there comes a time when you have to realize that you lost the fight and move on- this is a decision that was upheld by the SCOTUS so for the Republicans to keep trying to repeal it makes them look like sour grapes-.

Also keep in mind that the final decision or the split vote was made by your conservative President George W Bush supreme court nominee Justice John Roberts( I wouldn't be surprised if Robert's gets death threats or is labeled Un-american by some right wing lunatics)- so basically it was a republican appointed nominee who upheld Obamacare. Now matter how you flip it Dali this is good news for Obama- all Obama has to say in the debate is- Hey Mitt I used your Romneycare health plan as my blueprint and the SCOTUS upheld my law...
How will Romney respond???? His health plan was used by Obamacare- his health plan had a mandate and the Supreme Court upheld the decision bottom line this issue is over!!!!!!

Typical. Trying to turn a sow's ear into a silk purse. Sounds hollow because it is, and we'll be hearing a lot of it. Like all things republican, black will be white, up will be down and this slap in the face to the GOP by SCOTUS will somehow be branded a victory for the conservabots. Dream on. What is particularly ironic is that while you dumbasses don't realize it.....the Affordable Health Care Act and today's decision upholding the constitutionality of the vast majority of its most important provisions is going to provide good things for you, your families, your children and grandchildren. It's a shame it had to crammed down your dumb-ass throats.

I've got two other things to say:

1. Repukes, conservatives, Tea-Baggers, and COG: Fuck you.

2. Romney won't repeal the law even if he can get 60 repukes in the Senate....which he won't get even close to and which he has to have to repeal the law. Sit on it and spin, asshat.

Welcome back Well;

I am shocked that Robert's voted in favor. Nothing else to say, except don't over/under estimate the political ramifications.

Obamacare is not popular; and was the motivation of the 2010 Republican landslide that booted Democratics in state house and the US Congress.

This decision will put alot of pressure on Romney to be forceful and strong in his campgaining. Romey can easily say that his healthcare plan was a state plan; not mandated across the country.....it is an easy concept for voters to grasp.

BTW; Marshall has been banned - agian, for the 3rd time I think.

A bunch of hogwash- why don't you get the figures of what health care cost pre-Obamacare?? I believe that Health care was 18% of GDP in fact we spent more on health cost than a lot of countries total GNP. In 2010 alone the U.S spent over 2.6 trillion or about 8000 dollars for every person in the U.S- do you think that we could have sustained that price?
For as long as I have been a pharmacist- prescription medication has risen- I have many friends who work in hospital the cost to treat people has risen- do you know how much it cost for a mere CAT scan? A Cat scan that takes about 30 seconds to operate can easily exceed 10,000 dollars- do you think most americans have that kind of money?
Who ends up paying for treatment when people with no insurance goes to the ER/Hospital?
You act as if the system was perfect or affordable before Obama got in office- the system has been broken for a long time and there's really no party or particular person to blame- but again can you tell me what the GOP plan was to fix the healthcare crisis?????

I think the immediate issue is how will Boehner respond; the Republicans in Congress better swing hard to the right in everything and anything. Otherwise, conservative voters will stay home or go somewhere else.

I will also add:

The Bush II legacy gets worse for conservatives - Roberts was a Bush appointment to SCOTUS. George Bush is fast becoming one of the worse presidents in our history.

Good to hear from you Whirl- but if you look at many of my post- I never said Obamacare was perfect- there are things in the bill that should be thrown out and there are some good things that should bekept- even Obama said that he wasn't going to start from scratch as the GOP wanted but rather keep the good and throw out the bad- I am still waiting on the GOP to come with their plan- but they never will because they don't have one..
However in terms of Romney- he could say what you mentioned BUT he is on video saying the model would be good for the country here's the evidence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbLTovqG29g look at the video this is proof that Romney here's another video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7PG4j2K0dA basically Romney wants a program where the government is not giving out free care and people are buying their own private insurance.
Wow if Marshall been ban I think it's bye bye for good if this is the 3rd time- what a shame.
Whirl I really don't think Romney is a strong or right person to motivate people especially on this issue when so many people see Romneycare and Obamacare as nearly equal- again Romney wanted his state Govt not to pay for free healthcare but rather issue a mandate where people carry insurance and they would purchase their own insurance- how is this any different from Obamacare??? Also, if I am not mistaken Romneycare issued a penalty as well.
Romney has a tough battle ahead this is a setback plus he's not going to win the Latino vote based on his immigration stance- sadly what Romney has to hope for is the UE rate to drastically increase which is a small chance it will rise significantly.
Whirlaway to show you how vile the far right is- I bet Roberts gets attacked or even threats by some lunatics from the far right.
