DR for vacay

Heading to DR at the end of the summer, need some advice on where to stay. I'm going with a friend of mine that does NOT hobby at all, so the hobby retreats are out of the question . The best place I can find so far has been the Hard Rock hotel/ casino. I love the latina's so I'm hoping to party with locals, my friend prefers white women. I guess I'm concerned that Hard Rock will only be other tourist and no locals. Where another place I looked at sounded like it was close to the local night spots, the hotel itself didn't seem to nice. Any suggestions would be appreciated on a nice place where we'll get a mix of both. Looking primarily at punta cana, but open to suggestions. Thanks!

If you want a great place to stay, go to La Romana. Check out the Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach. You can google the hotel for pics and rates. I promise you wont be disappointed.

You can get to La Romana on AA connecting through Miami. La Romana is a little off the beaten path than Punta Cana. Best comparison is how Playa del Carmen used to be compared to Cancun before the word got out and made it crowded.
