ECCIE website - external publicity
We know tonight will change things for some people here. The reality of mainstream publicity for this site is good...and bad.
For the owners, this is a boon. A lot more traffic means more advertising and banner dollars. More membership dollars. But, it will come with more scrutiny as well. Their interest is money, this is a business.
For the guys, it will increase awareness of what this is. If you leave breadcrumbs, your hobby interests will be recognized by more people. I know you feel protected by your hobby phone, but what about your tracks through the bandwidth of the internet? Anonymity is not creating a fake screen name.
For the gals, well, they have the most at stake. Showcase photos can pop up in TV media, as well as any photos posted in the ROS. HELL YEAH!
If those are seen under the wrong circumstances, I hope the girl has a damage control plan in place.
Odds are, nothing earth shattering will happen tonight, but this opens a door. The powers that be, politicians, do not like to be embarrassed publicly. With this site going into major media reports, and the network has been heavily previewing the story, I don't expect a shoulder shrug response.
Feel free to threadjack

I wonder what politician or council member stumbled onto this site. You never know, someone could've just been "outed".

I think that the story will revolve around what most breaking stories about prostitution revolves around. Human trafficing, Underaged run aways, and the inglorious bastards who peddle them across the nation.

Awesome! That means they will have enough cash coming in where they can get rid of the ridiculous pop-ups.... right Eccie owners????
Btw, does this really need to be in a separate thread? It's the same topic.
FWIW, I don't think it will change anything. There has been press on ASPD previously and ECCIE as well on the news. It didn't change a thing. Maybe a few folks freak out in the short term, hide in the closet with a tin foil hat on, but in general, it won't change a thing.

It depends on the focus. That said I agree it will pass unless it is a ratings coup for news 11

The pop ups are revenue generators. If anything, expect more.
This thread was intended to be from a different angle, it goes beyond the CBS report tonight. In the big picture, going forward in the future with this form of media taking over, should people think about changing their MO?
In the past, Google wasn't as sophisticated as it is now. And it will only get better. I typed in a provider screen name from here and it took me straight to her eccie reviews, along with her showcase. Obviously, the providers have a lot at stake in their personal lives.
ROS sometimes gets hijacked to the other site that cannot be named. The new technique by some reviewers is to convince the girls to pose for revealing photos for their threAD review. What happens when those photos get hijacked to another site and end up in the Webcrawler? Or sold to a porn site? Someone could recognize the girl. It happened recently to the local LMT who did porn videos a few years ago.
Making this forum private is a possibility, but there is a downside to that, especially to the forum owners making money. And participation drops off significantly.
And I don't think tonight will showcase TER, that would be boring
Just some thoughts

Agenda? If discussion, guilty. I'm not sure some providers realize this.
Anyone can download pics to their computer. Even if pics are flash based, screen copy or Grab will save them. After that, they can be converted to any format and posted anywhere. Think geniusman.

If you prefer discretion then any publicity is bad. Board owners should have the jitters re increased surveillance....planitng undercover cops re setting up Providers & Hobbyists for busts. DPD does NOT like being made to look like they're not doing their jobs. AMPs will be under greater scrutiny...for a while. Like Jules Jaguar mentioned in another thread..stick with Providers that've been around for a while. Do NOT try out any new BP posters unless you enjoy having a LE badge flashed to your face while cuffs are applied and the news cameras film you trying to hide your face. If you've had the pleasure of particular Providers consider return visits for a while. DPD/LE & the media have short attention spans and will soon move on. It'll be the fools that get caught.

Yes, I know the intention of them on this site. My point (jokingly because they will never remove the retarded pop-ups) was that with increased revenue from site traffic after this tv spot, that will allow them to rid us of the pop-ups.
I'm sure the owners will chime in on the subject.

If they have anything at risk in their personal lives, blur the face, tats or have head turned away. Provide a separate face shot to an email add after screening if requested.
Many have been busted before so it won't be a big deal to them. So, no, "all" providers won't need to do that...
