Global Warming MUST be Real!
Happy Year From the Frozen South Coast!
Well Al Gore can kiss my shivering @$$! This first day in 2018 we woke up; to 30 degrees with an expected high of(maybe) 40. Tonight and for the rest of the week they say it will be in the twenties.
This MUST be due to Global Warming . . .right? Or maybe its just winter. Frankly, I remember a winter back in the eighties that was just as cold, so this happens here in Houston from time to time.

Global warming is kicking my ass!
30 deg and north winds are making work hard for someone not used to it in S. Texas.

My ECCIE Reviews

Hate to break it to you-- but technically, its called "Climate Change". Global Warming became the "buzzword" because of what is happening. Sea levels are rising because of the polar ice caps melting off faster than they should due to gasses. Climate change does not necessarily mean we get warmer... it means more volatile weather conditions... which includes stronger hurricanes, more severe drought, and extremes in both hot AND cold.
Global Warming is a misnomer. The concern is actually climate change.

I believe that Global Warming refers to the average global temperature, which has increased only by a few degrees, but is still statistically and environmentally significant.

I believe in global warming.
Just not as a fanatical as Gore.
When I was younger, we had weather like this in Oct.
We had frost on the ground every morning in Nov.
This is normal for the 1970's.
It's just been a long time since I saw it cold for this long on the coast.

Global Warming
It's funny how the global warming crowd switch from warming to cooling to just change. Just in case I am buying farm land in the Yukon. I have also secured options on a mile wide strip of land running for 25 miles in eastern Ca. so when the great quake hits I will own a mile of beach front property.

Foolish hysteria. There was record growth in antarctic ice cap growth over the last few years. There is no major climate change. It was called global warming by scientists who espoused this belief in the early 90s, then changed the terminology to "climate change" when the trend data no longer supported the steady temperature increases, year to year, globally. Only humans can even approach the egocentric belief that we somehow have the power to alter and affect mother nature. We can't, and I'll quote George Carlin, "we are nothing more than a nuisance to the earth. When the earth is done with us, it'll merely shake us off like a bad case of fleas, and we'll go the way of entinction like the many other species over the last millions of years." He's right, there was no more toxic an environment than following the asteroid impact that led to the extinction of the dinosaurs and end of the triassic period; however, earth cleansed itself and here we are. Maybe extinction is the way we are supposed to go, and if that is the case, there's nothing we can do about it. Should we conserve to produce a cleaner habitat for ourselves, freer of plastics and petroleum derivatives? Of course, but that's to make sure we have a beautiful, well cared for environment. But, believing that our vehicles and factories are leading to some cataclysmic event that will make the earth uninhabitable for all future lifeforms is preposterous. Mother nature has a way of cleansing and correcting itself. Need proof? Look at the hydrologic cycle. A nice and efficient way to cleanse even polluted water back into clean, usable, fresh water. The universe is far more powerful and self sustaining than we little, narcissistic humans would like to believe. That would lend itself to believing that there is a higher power than our wee brains, and that can be relision or the realization that we cannot in any way control mother nature. The earth will be fine. Its people are fucked.

Then the explanation for record major weather events that still hold true from back in the early 1900s, and this includes record years for hurricanes and blizzards??
Like Hurricane Camille whose winds hit Biloxi Mississippi above 200 miles per hour in 1969 and no landfalling hurricane has even come close to this strength since, and that includes Andrew and Katrina??
Alot of hysteria. Climate patterns are cyclical, the most stable abd consistent scientists say this. Another thing, whatever happened to that acid rain that was supposed to have eroded all of our cities? There are more plabes in the air now than ever, but conservationists support rainwater collection for use.
I agree that pollution is something we should all work hard to reduce. As humans, we are just too self centered and concerned for our own convenience tha. To pay attention to the affects of this sometimes, but the earth is fine, we are in no more danger today than 30 years ago, and the sun will come out tomorrow. Bet your bottom dollar, that tomorrow. There'll be sun! (Just butt cold here in New Orleans)

Either way, we need more windmills and solar powered flashlights.
That will keep us alive longer.

Like, every two years, the united nations releases an article that claims to statistically prove that the average global temperature of the Earth is increasing at an accelerated rate that is unprecedented and “unequivocally” caused by human activity.
