Threads Disappearing On ASPD
Funny thing happened this morning. I was copying a few reviews over to this site from aspd and while I was in the process of doing so I was looking at the instructions that Tbone posted on one of my threads. I went to the thread read it carefully. I tried what it said and it did not work like I thought it should so I went back to read it again at it was gone. I guess someone must have removed it. Not a big deal but, just curious.
Has this happened to anyone else?

I would think that there wouldn't be any "dismantling" but that the site would just disappear. Although if it's trying to be saved in some fashion, that makes sense.
I believe one day we'll sign in and it'll be gone. Poof.

I had similar thoughts ... to ASPD's credit ... the fact that it has remained online seems to be helping in what could have been a much more chaotic transition to other sites.
In doing so, it has allowed a communication medium and ideas for those comtemplating their migration.
OFF :-)

It seems this is the "new" ASPD. Not necessarily in attitude, but more of a common meeting place of former ASPD members

The shame of it is that they began a silent ban campaign against members who asked about the money. Myself and others only asked a question and *poof*
Funniest part of it is that I was in a position to help them with a majority of their financial needs for the new site that they are now asking for over "there" but they didn't realize that until I was banned. They banned people who didn't break any rules. I wouldn't be able to trust them anymore anyway now that I have seen the underhanded way they operate.
I loved ASPD and thought of so many there as an extended family. I really wished that I could have said goodbye to so many there. Well, thanks to ECCIE I don't have to say goodbye because so many are right here.

Yep, the banned me tonight, supposedly less than 24 hours before they were to shut down. After 11 years and over 3000 posts without so much as a point or a single warning.

Vindictive little f*ckers, ain't they? The more people that know about this, the better. This way people can't say that we didn't warn them about their practices when they start their new site.

So why did they ban you guys?...I have never had a beef, but I did have a question, and decided it was not smart to ask....
"ASPD" stated thay they could not access funds from the bank accounts because they could not supply a "death certificate". why can they not provide a death certificate? Every coroner gives that out at time of death and confirmation. why would they not have that? Or request one? That doesn't make sense???

According to fieryjade on 12-30, "What many people do not know (but now will of course ... ) is that Amber's death is "questionable circumstances" so we cannot get a death certificate." She says they now have a faxed copy, however.
It still doesn't make much sense, however!

I agree, if that is all they need to access funds and pay the ASPD server bill, all is good....But I am thinking other things are happening here....
But, you never know, I have been wrong a time or two...

I was reading the board some more, looks like it will be gone any time now....
Another curious question, just curious...Does anyone know how Amber died? When they say "questionable circumstances" what does that mean? What happened?
It looks like they are shutting down because they were not happy with the patrons not showing the affection they thought they should. They thought it was disrescpectful I think...OH Well, it was a business, gee whizzz, they didn't shut down Wal-Mart when Sam died...I dunno, it just doesn't make sense is all....
