closed thread
Another closed thread. This one was about bareback. While I agree that some people were getting snarky, why close the thread because of a few? There was some useful information in that thread. Rather than close it for all, why not address the concerns of "getting along" with the individuals rather than close a thread to the group?
Angel -
I do want to say that I was not concluding that you do BB from your post, I feel rather strongly that you do not. Rather I was trying to warn you what people's perception and response would be. You need to be very careful how you word things, facts mean nothing, perception means everything.

I actually like just ending the threads to stop the drama I have found myself posting way less because I feel if I do the other posters will only bash me if I state my opinion. Everybody needs to respect each other as people just trying to be safe and leave all the bullshit off eccie

Yep. I've said it before - for some people, this board is a nice resource for the hobby. For others, this board has BECOME the hobby.
I had a great idea from that thread, though. A new machine called the "Instafuck 5000." Simply hold the Instafuck up near the genitalia of the man or woman (30 seconds if shaved, 60 seconds if not), and the Instafuck will give you an immediate disease screening. Now all I have to do is figure out how to build it. I'll be a billionaire!

Look I was not bashing Angel at all, in fact I was pointing out that some of the people responding to her were being a little judgment and condesending in their tone. Some of them apparently took offense to my statement. What no one should respond if they might upset someone, this board is going to become very one sided. What needs to happen is people need to thicken their skin up a little bit and stop getting all butt hurt because someone might have a differing opinion.

Amen, BigMike
And for gosh sakes...this is an paid adult board. Yes there is going to be some people who disagree with whatever you happen to post.
Big freaking deal....either don't respond, ignore...or hell, even choose the option to respond to that person.
Stop being childish because a person doesn't happen to think exactly the same way as you do...and especially if that person feels comfortable enough to express it.
Nobody is going to come thru your screen and mess with you.
And I'll say it again, and again. The threads which have even a hint of drama are the ones that get the most views. Obviously there are many who do enjoy the back and forth.
Those of you that don't like....have every right to simply ignore it or use a mature choice of picking & choosing what you read or engage in. There are others who hate it...and simply avoid it. Any excuses that they can't avoid this stuff...are exactly that....excuses.
Those of us who do choose to engage....of course within the reasonably applied Eccie guidelines, have just as much right to do our thing.
For gosh sakes people, act like adults who are currently on a SHMB,,,,,and not let others actions lead you, effect you, or piss you off.
Hell, I don't agree with a lot of what vkmaster posts. And I don't have the option to ignore his stuff.
Try walking in my fingertips on my keyboard for a day!!!

There are various guidelines that have not been followed lately. For example...
#4 - Blatant insults or hostility toward another member will be met with staff intervention. This applies to using our coed forums for name calling, personal attacks, or vulgar slang terms to describe fellow members. If you have legitimate concerns about another member here, share them tactfully in the appropriate private forums or with staff.
I can admit that i broke that guideline recently, many times, along with other posters. I'm going to try to not do it again.
Those threads got tons of views, but they were full of violation of the above guidelines. You have noticed that some providers are not posting as much, and i have heard at least five good kc providers say they avoid this board for anything other than occasional ads, and showcase.. Because of exactly what i think the mods are trying to get under control.
So i can understand that some of us, including me, forced the mods to either ignore the guidelines or do something about it, which they are doing. I say fine. Exchange info, make jokes, you can talk about whatever you want, but don't push the guidelines... In my opinion.

Couple of reactions to your post Johnny....
First off, I am totally with you, in terms of the #4 rule you posted, regarding insults, hostilities, etc, etc.
Like you, I have crossed the line a couple of times...and I have, and will, make a conscious effort not to do it again.
But what people on this board are starting to lose sight of....disagreeing, not liking...even hating what someone posts is not rude or insulting. Expressing one's displeasure over a post...again, maturely within Eccie guidelines should not/is not point worthy.
I don't want to speak for the KC mods...but I don't think anybody was forcing the mods to ignore or do something. They were letting the boards flow the way they felt it should
No disrespect to current Mod...but he is also enforcing the board the way he feel they should. And we must all learn to accept it or embrace it.
But make no mistake...except for some stuff that was going on a month or so ago....KC boards were fairly tame. The Mods in those days, let things flow.
Current Mod won't...we live with that. But it doesn't mean things were broken back then. Like everything else..this too shall pass. But until then we need
to acknowledge things are as they are.
But to play devil's advocate...I can name at least 10 providers who enjoy checking out Eccie beyond just their ads. The vast majority, exercise their right not to participate...but they do enjoy checking Eccie out, for things other than posting their ads.
The other day, I did a quick check of the KC Eccie showcases....there were 121 cases. From the date I was on...going back 10 days, not quite 110 of those cases showed they were on Eccie.
We're they just checking ads, PM's or cruising the threads...of course I don't know. But sorry, there is no great wave of leaving Eccie. I join Eccie in 1/10...and even back then, there was this cry about all the ladies leaving Eccie.....but here we are, with 121 showcases. Which btw, with the exception of some of the Texas cities, not a bad count.
I know there are others that are out there that have either left or not joined Eccie. I wish all the lovely ladies would not only join Eccie but participate (with ads, the very least).
I also know there are some who avoid Eccie for drama reasons. IMO, most of those got caught up in the drama. Shame on those who pushed them out...but shame on them for letting some faceless keyboards for getting to them that way.
And one last thought Johnny...and I'd like to think that, although we don't agree on everything, we do respect each right's to express our thoughts. You indicated that yes there were some threads with high view count...but in your opinion points should have been handed out. I'm going to flip that argument.....and with the exception of the totally over-the-top stuff (mexmex)...isn't better to let the folks do their thing. And then let all the other folks who enjoyed viewing the more popular threads...sit back and either enjoy or ignore.
Mods role, IMO, is to keep things from getting ugly...I mean real ugly. But they are not the enforcers of good vs evil. Plus I would think St Chris, the owner of this joint, enjoys seeing the high view counts. It means his site is having traffic, which I would assume works out in more $$$'s to him

My thoughts....
I am fundamentally opposed to closing or moving any thread to the staff room for any reason.
Edit the inappropriate comments and guideline violations, yes, but close no, not even if the OP makes the request. Let things play themselves out, as they always do, regardless of the drama, etc.
The exchange of information comes in many forms, not just what some feel is meaningful and tantamount to proper membership and participation, in my opinion. In fact some have expertise some others will likely never realize or experience because they aren't listening or are blinded by their feelings about certain members. Shutting off that flow of sharing will be to the detriment of all.
I can't remember who said it, but it still rings true today, "less moderation is better moderation."
Play on....

Without question, KShunter...what you say has partial truth to it.
But also make no mistake about it....those of us that enjoy the Board, we also enjoy having multiple forms of enjoying different hobbies.
I would ask you, don't blindly confuse us, with those who have chosen solely to make this board the hobby. We all have different available time to chose what we like to do in mixing up how we enjoy our hobby time

I never said points should have been handed out. I do respect you and yep, you and I might disagree a bit on this. The idea that high thread view count is money in someone's pocket doesn't make it right. Weren't there a few racial slurs at mex? That's just plain wrong no matter how many views it gets. It's been other guidelines that have been violated lately. You have repeated "can't we act like adults?" Isn't that what the guidelines are directed at? so i am for closing threads to try to get some civility. Maybe a point can be made that a thread should not have been closed, but big deal, start a new one.
Finally, again, in the past few weeks i was one of the worst.
