OK first Texas next?
Starting in July, it will be illegal to , among other things, to write a review of an encounter with an escort. A felony.
OK HB 2054. Makes it a felony to hire a prostitute and even provide any aid. Such as reviews.
How long before Texas does the same?

Two thoughts:
1.) Tracking down a reivewer, you or me for example, will be difficult. With the fine being "up to $7,500", the cost to track & prosecute a reviewer would not be worth it.
2.) With Websites being off-shored, gathering evidence to enforce US laws is difficult
But to avoid threatening actions from a State's AG, i.e. the cost of Legal Defense team, Web Discussion Boards might disappear.
Good parts of this law include penalties for the lady being under-age, and when a participant has a known, dangerous virus.
Bad parts is this law restricts actions between two consenting adults. I'm not forcing her, she's not forcing me. I can pay money for a car wash, some flowers, a movie, and a nice dinner, & worry about her getting pregnant, (and that's legal) or, I can just give her that same amount of cash (and that's illegal.).
Should be interesting to see how this pans out.

The bill is too broad.
So if I publish my sexual experience to another person even by telling a friend, hey buddy, that girl I had the other night... that is illegal.
If I give money or anything of value like jewelry to another person in exchange for sex, that is illegal according to this bill.
So we are all guilty of soliciting and enticing prostitution, then. How many folks in human history, billions of them, have given another human being something of value and then received sex back.
It's called dating, courting. Married couples still do it on anniversaries and birthdays and special occasions. Are they going to be arrested, convicted and then registered as sexual offenders?

Thanks for your link. In reading Section 3, C.
"As used in this section, “publish” means to circulate, deliver, distribute, disseminate, transmit, or otherwise make available to another person."
If that is "too broad", courts will render decisions about that. Courts will only be involved after arrests. No one wants to be arrested, and then spend money to wait for a courts decision, followed by multiple appeals.
I can see why eccie would remove OK boards, although I have read no official statement from eccie as to why OK boards are removed. (If I lived in OKC and had paid for Premium, I would be pissed right now.)
Rubmaps is hosted in China, so they probably won't worry.

So even texting a friend on my iPhone about my date last night where I had sex but prior to having sex, I took her out for a nice expensive dinner, that will get me arrested.
Quote:
To solicit, induce, or entice, or procure another person to commit pay or provide money or any other item or service of value to engage in an act of lewdness, assignation, or prostitution, with himself or herself;
To knowingly offer money or any other item or service of value, or agree to provide or pay money or any other item or service of value to, or on behalf of, another person, for the purpose of engaging in sexual conduct,
It shall be unlawful for any person who pays a fee for a sexual encounter to publish a review of that sexual encounter or to publish a review of the pubic area, buttocks, or breasts experienced in the sexual encounter on a website that facilitates, encourages, offers, solicits, or promotes sexual conduct with another for a fee.

Thing is, Oklahoma KNOWS their law is illegal and unenforceable. So what.
Their goal is to supress. It's already working. Just like Texas, which made it a Felony to solicit. To justify the felony charge, they had to incorporate an assumption that prostitutes are trafficked. Without that metric, the policy unravels. Ironically that emboldens, strengthens Pimps. LE could never reign in Pimps, so they went for the low-hanging fruit, the hapless Monger. Meanwhile the Pimp's Ladies get little pamphlets offering non-profit sources to help them get ''out of the life'', but since they are automatically considered victims, they are released back to the Pimps.

While this site has curbed providers from being able to place actual ads, really discourages providers from even posting at all, at least on a consistent basis, and has gotten rid of the in search of forums that promote prostitution, it still has a few things that leaves itself gullible for law enforcement to get them on.
There are supposed to be private forums and the rest of the story of a review is supposed to be read by only premium access members, because you can pay to get that access, it really defeats the purpose of that type of screening.
Eventually, this board is going to become nothing but a discussion board but you have to leave out a lot of subjects for discussion. If you thought that this board was not as active as it once was, just wait. After a short time of it being a discussion board with a lot of discussions not being able to be discussed, it's going to eventually just die.
For those who do not have regulars already, so sorry for you guys!

As you say, no one wants to be first, especially if you loose.
As to premium access, that is for access to male only areas of the board. That has not changed. But yes,if no OK board comes back, it does suck
I know nothing official about what ECCIE is doing in this regard. Just posting news about our hobby

My ECCIE Reviews
|
Notice how whenever lawmakers go after sexuality, gender conformity, prostitution between consenting adults, sexually explicit materials, etc...
That the economy gets worse with each attempt? If you think about it, for profit prison systems that started evolving so long ago, now we have more felons and more people locked up at any given time...
Now think back to the days of ASPD and such ( I was not a member then)
and back when Gina owned/operated P411, Verify Him had an interactive forum that providers could use to exchange information.....Those simple tools all allowed for great communication. And what was going on then?
The economy was doing very well. People had more confidence in the hobby because communication helped both sides choose who they wanted to see. There was incentive to provide great TCB and customer service skills. There was incentive for hobbyists reputations be known and trusted.
I knew Backpage was their own worst enemy when they refused to take any ID in order to at least attempt to police their own damn site. It was not like they could not afford to hire a gatekeeper of sorts to monitor and protect as best they could against trafficking and abuse. But nope, they just took the money and looked the other way. Then every disgusting thing you could imagine started getting pushed and advertised there, lawmakers in that case were forced by the public to do something to shut it down. Now there is so much regulation and enforcement of Taliban style crap like this.
The more illegal paid sexual activity between consenting adults gets, the economy erodes. Believe it or not, there are some politicians who believe that sex work should be decriminalized, that those who pay should not be subject to arrest and prosecution. Sadly, these laws against paid encounters are no different than for profit prison systems. As long as investors and the legal pipeline of court cases can make a profit off the arrests, sex is the easiest reason of all to arrest mass quantities of people easily.
