Furthermore, that link provided looks very risky to me -- asking for the social security number.

I hear that with the information requested, plus social security number, identity theft is a piece of cake.

i do this for a living. go to creditcards.com and see for yourself. Or google it. This happens 4 times a year. DO you think a credit card company is going to give you a credit card based on your good looks?

No offense or disrespect meant, Cage196, but putting aside the obvious security problems with this "offer," the Platinum Card and all it represents is obscene. Though I qualify, both financially and in terms of someone who would actually use the benefits, I would never be so stupid or superficial as to waste $450 on such measly supposed benefits, burdened by the transaction costs and human error that would lead most people to forfeit rather than use the points.

You can bet Warren Buffet doesn't waste time with such frivolities. And the lunacy of such mindless debt is a major reason why so many of our fellow Americans and the country are in such a downward spiral. This sort of thinking really is closely related to the thinking that caused the most recent crash.

And yes, we all know that credit card companies are positively falling over themselves trying to give us more and more cards based on little more than our good looks (and empty heads).

then dont do it. I can tell you, if someone gave me $1450.00 in points and i had to give 450.00 back, i would be all over it. This is what i do. I do airfare, buy points, book travel etc. Some of the ladies on here have vouched for me as well. If you do not want to do it, understood. But it is still a great offer, and in my world of giving people money for credit card rewards, this is mardi gras
