Chiefs Lose
I'd do my usual "The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly," but I'm just too depressed. It was all ugly. The Chiefs played like the Raiders, but didn't do it as well. Jan 2 is looking like a much bigger game now.

All I ask of the Chiefs is to win two games per year. That's to beat the Raiders. They've failed me. Can't stand to watch another game. All they do is make me depressed.

It was a tough loss but I'll give the Raiders credit. They made some really big plays and pulled the game out. At least it was fun to watch, for the most part.
Last year I forgot several times they were even playing, this year I don't want to miss even one play!
It will feel much better next week after we whup Denver.

Bowe could have iced the game with a first down if he uses his stone hands instead of his chest. Before you give him too much credit for the TD, the pass was right on the numbers, he should have caught the pass.

For sure, the interception in the red zone, the holding call on the field goal, the penalty on the punt return, thats 17 points and the Raiders don't look so good, the Chiefs are runnning out the clock at the end of the game.

I hate to have to say this but I warned everyone that to stop the chiefs you just have to stop the run, NO serious passing game, a quarterback whose ball flys slower than a wounded goose, receivers who cant hold onto the ball. The only reason it was close was the fact the raiders kept shooting themselves in the foot in the first half. Our secondary still needs lots of help especially with fast receivers. I am sticking with my 8 and 8 prediction because I have not fallen victim to the hype, the chiefs are a better team, going in the right direction but they are not there yet. A last thought to ponder, it is a good thing they played San Diego here the first game of the year, because I suspect they could not beat them here or there now. Like it or not San Diego has something that the Chiefs dont have and wont have with Cassel. A real passing game.

Chefs played their sloppiest, worst game of year and lost in OT on the road to a pretty good football team. Tough lost, but keep in perspective. We win next week in Denver and we still control the division. I still like 10-6, maybe 11-5. Who would not of taken that at start of year.
Yesterday too many penalties, dropped balls, but as Herm used to say, 'the other team is on scholarship too.'.
Go Chefs, kick some Mile high Donkey ass!!

Stupid, unnecessary penalties costing 17 points and, ultimately the game. Who does that sound like? Oh, yeah, the Raiders. Sigh.

They were never in sync. Some of it was sloppy play, some because its the Raiders, and some because that was the most sloppily officiated game I've seen in forever.

You guys can make all of the excuses for them you want, they lost because they are not as good as you have bought into. They are a team that can run the ball and stop the run, last in the league in passing offense, 28th in the league in passing defense. This team is not going to win enough games on the road to get to 10-6 this year. The raiders passing offense is one of the worst in the league yet they passed all over us. They didnt even have their starters at wide receiver, Murphey and Shillens. They start 3-0 and the expectations in this town went through the roof, they are not sustainable or realistic. We would not beat Cleveland if we played them again or would we beat San Diego. Look I am not wanting to be a spoil sport but be realistic in whats happening. They are a better team then they were last year and hopefully will advance again with a few key player pick up and would then be a legitimate play off team.
You guys are like Royal fans, they win some games in April and you talking playoffs. By the Allstar break your talking about how bad they stink.

Hey, I predicted 4 wins this year, so I'm already wrong.
I think they can beat Denver, and the Raiders at home...and the division kinda stinks, so they're still on top.
Amazing, really.
Arizona is pretty lousy, Seattle isn't great....maybe double my prediction, with 8 wins?
Terrible game in Oakland, but also a very strange game.
I agree that Mr. 'he's not that good but at least he doesn't turn the ball over' made a huge mistake with that interception. It would be great to get a first rate quarterback....but where? Take a top rookie? They've stll got Croyle on the roster, from the last time that didn't work. Get a re-tread/somebody else's problem? I'm all for replacing Cassell, if there really is a better guy available...but who?

How its going to break down
Denver at Denver - Loss, Chiefs cannot win in Denver, Denver can pass the ball.
Cardinals at Arrowhead - Win
Seahawks at Seattle - Loss - chiefs will not be able to win on the road.
Bronco's at Arrowhead - Win - Homefield is the difference.
Chargers at San Diego - LOSS - wont even be close
Rams at Saint Louis - Loss again cant win road games, St Louis is a decent team
Tennesse at Arrowhead - LOSS Tennesse is a play off team
Raiders at Arrowhead - Win
Final record 8-8

Seems the last game from last season IN Denver, the Chiefs spanked the Donkeys rather handily...just sayin'...
