Default Absolutely brilliant call FEMA.

Absolutely, friggen brilliant! Due to our Govenrments shut down, FEMA is recalling their workers before Tropical Storm Karen hits. Oh, and the NOAA.org web site and ones associated with it have also been shut down.

@ExTxOilman - no he won't. He's too busy being a big baby to do what he is supposed to do, look out for his constituents instead of looking out for his own legacy.

Another brilliant move- WIC, the program that helps those in the most need, has had the brakes put on their program. Now can someone please, pretty please explain something to me.

We are in this shut down because we have a standoff over Obamacare, which is designed supposedly to help those that truly need the most help with healthcare..... meanwhile, the healthcare that WIC provides, nutrients to our most helpless, our unborn and babies, has been halted, which will effect their health.... how does this make any sense at all??????

9 million Moms and babies will be affected by this course of action, yet it's all in the name of better health care?????? WTF?????

Wait, what?

Do you not get just how ridiculously twisted, contradictory and stupid that logic is?

Tell the women to get jobs and they wont have to worry about handouts.
Giving 30 million people healthcare and paying 1.6 trillion dollars for it seems a bit extreme.
Spending more money than we have is a bit odd as well.

Simple math is lost in politics.

Uh, the Senate has TWO bills on their desk that do just that. Maybe they should vote on one of them.

I guess I'm confused...you realize that when they say that FEMA is "recalling" their workers for Tropical Storm Karen, that means that they're calling them back from furlough, and placing them back into operation, so that when the storm hits, they'll be able to respond, right? They don't mean they're recalling them from the coast because the government has to shut down...it means exactly the opposite.

So what is your problem with this again?

P.S.-The NOAA site worked perfectly for me...
