So I followed the rules, but can't get a return for 2 or 3 pm's sent board management.
Quote:
If you feel the need to vent, gripe, or blow off some steam regarding a staff member's action or decision, we ask that you keep it private. Email, RTM, or the PM system would be the appropriate avenue to take in such cases. In cases where you would like to request additional clarity about a staff decision, you are free to pursue an answer in either a public forum or private means of communication. If handled publicly, post your inquiry in a respectful manner.
|
I've followed this rule to a 'T', sending comments and questions through PM's, but I can't get a return PM sent back to me with either comments or answers for questions asked. It was never my intent to post this in public, but this should be the proper forum, because in the General Interest forums it says,
Quote:
For staff assistance, contact your local moderator, or see the "Emails to the Staff" post in the Questions for the Staff forum in each city.
|
So there is no option in the General Interest forums to ask a moderator or administrator questions.
I do find it ironic that we can get points for not following the rules, but when we follow the rules we're ignored. I also realize the board staff members are volunteers, however answering PM's should be considered a responsibility of the board staff and an extension of their volunteer work.
I appreciate that Dr-epg did answer a question from me, sent through a PM.

It's been 4 days this has been up and I've tried to get with an admin by 2-3 pm's. Crickets.
Irony, if I call someone a name or get off topic, here comes the pm letting me know I've got an infraction.
Why is this forum even here?
Is this how it works, allow someone to acquire enough points to be banned, instead of taking a few minutes to give them some council. Is it I like this guy, so I will get back with them, but this guy's an asshole, screw him and let him get banned.
I'm trying to ask a couple of questions the right way by PM, then I'm trying to do things the right way by asking a question in the proper forum in my home city. Nothing.

OK, please feel free to close this thread down.
To say the least I'm grossly disappointed that nobody outside of one mod who sent me a quick PM, that no moderator or admin has seen fit to do their job and attend to this Question For the Staff forum. So I ask again, if comments and posts here are to be ignored, then why does this forum even exist? I've had a couple of questions I need to ask, the guidelines state to send a PM, then the guidelines state to ask in this forum, me being from Houston. Guidelines were followed, trying to do the right thing, but still silence from the board staff.
But there's always light at the end of the tunnel. What have I learned? I'm a lead admin on 2 www sites and an owner of one Facebook page and lead admin on another. I've learned what it feels like to be ignored and to the people I admin, I don't want them to have that feeling, ever. As a volunteer it's my job to attend to their issues or questions. They all realize that myself and other moderators and admins are doing this on our own time, but it's a part of the job we 'signed up for' when we knowingly took the responsibility to moderate the group.

This struggle is real. It feels like they are deliberately ignoring me.

If you're this upset at unpaid volunteer labor, I'd hate to see how you treat compensated employees

Sir
All you have to do is Pm any of the local moderators and ask your questions in most cases replies are sent within 24 hours.
