Gifts?
I know most providers ask for wine, purses, perfume, ect. Would it be unprofessional for me to ask for kid or baby stuff? Like gift cards to Babies R Us, Toys R Us, and things like that? I was thinking about making a little gift list and you'd get a discount if you brought something like that. It would help me out with my Christmas shopping for my kids. Or is that totally inappropriate?
If so they I'll just stick with chocolate covered strawberries LOL!

Not at all. The best gifts you could receive are the ones that you need and will be able to use.

I think that's what I'd ask for a bday gift. My bday is in 11 days I'd rather see smiles on my kids faces for Christmas instead of getting myself stuff. I just spent my bday money on cloth diapers for my two smallest babies. I love buying things for them. Their happiness is my happiness.

If the guys ask. Then be honest about what gifts would be more sutiable for you/your needs. I'm sure they would appreciate knowing. Rather than getting you something you didn't like or would never use.
I however, love it when they surprise me with gifts they made.
I have one lover who's awesome in the kitchen. His homemade jams are awesome. Now I'm waiting for his homemade wine. And he looks amazing naked on my website! I wonder if he's a naked chef....hmmm???
Another sweetheart, knows what I collect that represents me as a woman. And the items he's made me to add to my collection, is something that I will always hold dear to my heart.
Gifts are nice.
But to me the best gift anyone could give me...is donating to the homeless/womens shelter. That by is what will make me happy.

Honesty's sexxxy. If you would appreciate gift cards to stores that carry the things you need/want-hellyeah, of course.
Any client worth his (no pun intended) salt is going to want to please you in return...so let them know what would bring a smile to your face
Hell, I always put GNC, lol....cuuuuuuz I'm goin' there regardless

I always ask for BOOZE, but White Queen (btw daaaaamn you go girl!) you have inspired me to ask for SPEC'S giftcards since I'm goin there already too! lol!
Milf- I am totally jealous. Nobody has ever done that for me before (hint hint, to the dude who showed up to my ic wearing a delicious smelling chef coat!)
And Malaya, there is never any harm in asking! The worst that could happen is they don't do it! You throwing a provider baby shower? I'll bet you could get a TON of stuff that way to fill in for whatever you don't get in your RW one!
Here's to gifts! Cheers!
xXx,
LUZ

Awwwwww......that's exactly how I feel.....I would rather make a child (or an elderly citizen) smile with a gift my the heart.......always better to give that to receive
I think your idea is awesome......I personally never really spurge on anything for myself (just pay bills and stuff) so when I receive a gift card it's always so nice and appreciated......I still have some from Macy's, Victoria's Secret and Lucky Brand as well as from Regis Salon......I'm saving them for a shopping trip hehe.......if you don't have a costco or sams card (I have a costco one) you should maybe look into it!! Big savings in bulk diaper purchases (Sorry guy's, lol girly talk) lalalalala(:

I don't think there is anything wrong with asking for gifts of what you want for your children.
I love receiving gifts and it shows me that the gentleman has given it some thought. I like to get things that I wouldn't normally get for myself because they are a luxury. Like right now I've been wanting a tablet, but just can't justify spending that much on myself:-( I love electronics...but I also need to eat, pay bills, take care of my pets and foster pets, make donations to rescue and vet other animals that rescues are helping. So gift cards to HEB, Walmart, and places like that are always nice to receive.
There is a group in SA called Women Helping Women and if you have career clothes, coats, etc. you no longer wear you can donate so that ladies who don't have a lot of money and are looking for a job will have appropriate clothing to wear.
The homeless shelters can always use blankets, socks, shoes, coats, warm clothing, toiletries. If you travel take the small ones from hotels and save them up and take them to a shelter.
The rescues and pet shelters can use food, blankets, dog coats especially now when it's getting cold outside.
So before you think about throwing something that can be used by someone else away, think of who might be able to use it and really appreciate it.

Years ago, I knew I had an appointment with a provider who had young kids. On the way to see her, I picked up a ToysRUs gift card for each kid.
