Restaurant recommendations
Looking for some inspiration for some some good places outside my normal haunts.
Any recommendations on a good spot and something from their menu?
Can be provider friendly, solo dining or with a group

I think this is the best restaurant in Pittsburgh IMHO:

A La Familia is the same people. I’m not a fan of going to Warrington Ave. tho. Have had a few provider dinners there.

Alla Famiglia is one of my favorite restaurants. But I do agree the location is less than desirable. La Tavola is another good restaurant.
Some others I like are Altius, Casbah, Mallorca, Wild Rosemary, Off The Hook, Hyde Park and way off the beaten path, Out of the Fire in Donegal.
The veal chop at Wild Rosemary is one of the best entrees I've had in years.

Bam, that menu looks pretty tempting and I have legitimately never been there. Could be a winner.
Stig, I really do want to try Mallorca. Will look into the rest of the list. Hyde Park is a personal favorite

Wild Rosemary is very good but you need to make reservations well in advance. And very small. Casbah and Mallorca are good for Hooker dates. Hyde Park has come a long way since opening. My favorite steak joint
Here’s another out of the way gem:

Haven’t been there in a couple years, but very good and BYOB.

I've been to Lucchesi's a couple times and its pretty good. Be warned, its cash only, no credit cards accepted.
Another absolutely outstanding gem that not a lot of people know about is Maria Merante's kitchen in Bloomfield. Its reservations only private family style dining for 8 to 10 people in Maria's kitchen on the second floor of her gift shop. Its a superb dining experience for a group. The Crown Pork roast is nothing short of amazing from presentation to digestion.

And if you have a little more budget visit Istanbul Cafe. That guy does wonders with the meat. His kebabs are just magic.

If you like Japanese food visit densetsu in Plano. There are 1 million sushi shops in dallas. This one is number 1 by a far far margin. Order Jays favorite and some saki and you’ll be thanking me again. Also order Omakase sushi .... most colorful delightful and tasty sushi platter ever

Thanks bro. I doubt he’ll be going to Dallas. If he was going to travel, there are many better cities to dine than Dallas.

Yeah, I can name at least a dozen better cities to dine in than Dallas. Nowadays, Pittsburgh might even make that list.
