Is it possible to disable the banners?

I don't always have privacy when using a computer and really hate the blarring banners of naked assess and breasts for everyone to see. Is there anyway to disable the banner or to make ECCIE less conspicuous?

Go to your PMs.
Control Panel is on the left side of the screed.
Under Options and Settings, click Edit Options.
Default is show images.
Click to remove check mark.

I checked and you are correct. I can eliminate avatars and images in posts, but not banners. I am guessing that may because they are paid ads. Just a guess. It is possible that someone else may be able to help.

When I first joined ECCIE I seem to remember a red panic button bouncing up and down on the left side of the screen. I found it quite annoyng. I inquired and was told how to turn it off and on in the control panel. I have been looking for it today without success. While it did not eliminate the banners, etc, it allowed a quick one click escape. Maybe that would help. Sorry that I have not been able to help you.

As far as I know there is no way to turn off the displaying of the ads.

Another quick escape...

Hold down the Windows key and then press the M key. This will immediately minimize all displayed windows.
