You are correct; France, Spain, and the Netherlands went at the Brits and diluted their power for their own geopolitical reasons.
The noble Poles, Taddeus Kosciuzsko and Casimir Pulaski came and fought the Brits hand-to-hand for an idea: liberty.
Most American Injuns who fought were on the side of the Brits. Andy Jackson never forgot, and his experience is maybe the main reason for the expulsion of the Tribes west of the Mississippi. The nation was still young, and fragile, and Jackson worried about the Indians forming alliances with European powers for the purpose of re-colonizing America.
