We need to be able to put the latest thread first to make it easier.

If you click on the icon that appears to the left of the thread title, you will be taken to the first post that you have not read yet since the last time you visited that thread. If that icon does not appear, then that means that there have been no new posts in that thread since your previous visit to that thread. That is the quickest way to get to the most recent posts.

Also...

If you click on the icon that appears to the right of the handle of the last poster on the thread you will be taken to that post.

With the exception of the stuck threads, threads appear in the order of the most recently updated appearing first. Stuck threads will always appear before the rest of the threads and that is by design.
