Default Washington state, Oregon and Nevada activate National Guard

https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/02/us/wa...ion/index.html

which come just after this recent development a week ago

DOD Directive 5240.01

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/pen...inst-americans

https://americarenewing.com/issues/d...rican-liberty/

Don't tell me the Constitution says Armed Forces can't be deployed on US soil and used against US citizen so don't worry, this DOD directive will never happen.

The Constitution can say anything it wants, but that's not going to stop a corrupt political regime from violating it.

Just like the law says cops can't stop people without cause, cops can't plant evidence so innocent people gets put in jail, cops can't shoot unarmed citizens yet the cops are still doing it.

Default Lacking direction or what??

Seems like a glaring lack of credible intel there.

So they don't know by whom or how. How do they know deploying the Guard is the most effective and expedient solution available?

Keep in mind the cities we are talking about here are insanely liberal. The most likely catalyst that would ignite that bunch would be Trump winning at all, more likely in a landslide.

As such, instead of stationing troops all over the joint, it might be more cost effective to strategically place leaking fuel trucks in key areas and let the loonies rampage.

Why don't they deploy Psychologists and Social workers?

I thought that was the answer to the George Floyd fiasco.

And where would we be now if the Democrat's natinal congressional leadership and the mayor of DC ahd allowed the activation of the National Guard before Jan 6th?

Question was directed at the OP. However, I recommend you compare his grievance with what the NG is, how it's deployed and on whose orders.

Plesse share with us all what you perceive the National Guard to be. . . .and perhaps why their deployment was contraindicated during the Portland riots of 2020 but not now.

You miss the point completely.

The discussion is who is responsible for deploying the National Guard, and is it a part of
the US Armed Forces ? The answers are clear. There is no "perception" of it.

I was under the impression that the National Guard was activated at the request of the governors of the affected states.

The DOD Directive 5240.01 does not authorize lethal military force.

Reuters:
Fact Check: DOD directive did not authorize lethal military force on U.S. citizens

An updated U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) directive does not authorize federal troops to use lethal force against citizens, contrary to social media posts misrepresenting the revision ahead of the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
Under the Posse Comitatus Act, opens new tab, it is illegal for military personnel to use force against people in the United States, unless for self-defense where authorized by Congress.

Well yes, I did not understand what was being said.

So what is it? Who is it,a nd what actually is the case for Oregon and Washington to need the deployment of the National guard?

Looking back at the riots of 2020 and the events of Jan 6th, why was the use f the National Guard contraindicated then and why is it appropriate now?
