Default The Ukraine

Should the USA and NATO, retaliate, if Russia invades the Ukraine?
and to what extent, if your answer is yes?

Yes, because I know several people in Ukraine and I'm worried for their safety :\

I'm really confused why we don't deploy troops to the Ukraine now. Put 100k NATO troops there.

With no sarcasm intended, I thought we had a huge military budget as a deterrent.

Are you serious? Ukraine isn't a NATO member so we have no treaty obligation to come to its defense. I already have a problem with the fact that NATO has expanded to 30 nations, up from 16 when the Berlin Wall fell in 1989 and 12 when NATO was founded in 1949. Why are we on the hook to send US troops to Montenegro if it is attacked?

I'm not an apologist for the Russians, but out of respect for history shouldn't we try to understand their security concerns a little bit? They view Ukraine as the "soft underbelly" used by Napoleon and Hitler to invade them.

Having said that, Russia is clearly acting as the aggressor here and Ukraine will be the victim if Putin is foolish enough to invade. We should definitely be sending weapons and lethal aid to the under-equipped Ukraine military. NATO should keep its own troops out, but help Ukrainians fight off any incursion and make it costly for the Russians. At least Trump sent them Javelin missiles. Wtf has Biden done, other than warn of sanctions?

We don't understand European history, and, we have no business sending our men to die, when its not our problem.

Is it a good thing if it happens, no, Ukraine is a huge piece of real estate, and, its clear they want the Soviet Union back, so, at some point, conflict is going to occur.

ON that same note, we are undercutting the Ukraine by one, not selling them our LNG making them more dependent upon Russia, and two, by allowing the Nordstream pipeline, it further tightens Europes dependence upon Russia oil.

Send them AT missles, which I see them training with already, and more weapons that we build, at least it creates US jobs.

Hmmmmm.... Interesting that the Biden Administration is more
concerned with Ukraine's borders than the borders here in America.

Which ones does he want to protect?

Well you do realize that Senile Biden opened his mouth and created an international incident as outlined in this thread

https://eccie.net/showthread.php?t=2824825

CNN's reported: Ukrainian Officials Watched Biden 'With Horror' and Said He Gave 'The Green Light to Putin' to invade Ukraine

Putin is laughing with this moron Biden in charge. Under President Trump, the US entered no new wars escalated military conflicts - the first time that has happened since old Jimmy Carter

But I especially like Glenn Greenwald's take on this:

Remember when Joe Biden was in charge of Ukraine for the Obama administration and a Ukrainian energy company paid his son Hunter $50,000/month to sit on its Board even though he had no experience or knowledge whatsoever about that industry?

Anyway the US has been all but running Ukraine as a colony -- to the point that Biden was dictating which prosecutors should be fired and Burisma paid Hunter $50k/month to curry favor with his dad -- but the DC class says "Russia has no right to interfere in Ukraine" and everyone nods
.

Have your kids volunteer to go fight Russians, for no reason, in a country that half the people consider themselves Russian. What could possibly go wrong?

Totally valid points by you and others.

To paraphrase Breaking Bad - no half measures. If we don't give a shit about Ukraine because it's none of our business, then let's just back away and say this is a matter between the Ukraine and Russia.

Obviously I'm not one for diplomacy. If we care, we're in 100%, or we're out.

I'm actually an isolationist. I just don't understand what we're trying to accomplish by asking Russia to pretty please not invade. Nut up or shut up.

The drums of war are beating in DC. Senile Biden is trying to distract the American people from all his disasters. Throughout history, political leaders have sent their countries to war when their popularity waned. This is not a once or twice thing. It’s very common.

Senile Biden would send your sons and daughters to die in Ukraine for his poll numbers. Without hesitation.

We need to stay the fuck out of it, just like any other conflict that doesn’t directly involve the US. We have enough problems here and a huge part of why so much of the world hates the US, is because we keep sticking our nose in places it doesn’t belong. None of our business.

I see the lemmings don't have an opinion, No one told them what to think yet. Another interesting point is how the lemmings go off subject and turn the post into a political discussing about Biden and NOT A FUCKING PEEP FOR THE UNBIASED MOD
