Default Why I brine my turkey

I thought it would take a full ten hours to smoke the bird but it was done in 8. Thank goodness I brined it or it would have been jerkey. Happy Thanksgiving Y'all

I smoked mine Saturday. Last couple years, I cut the bird apart before brining, toss, make stock or feed back, guts etc to dogs. Remove wings, leg quarters from breast.

Wings are out of smoker first. Then the breast (to 150) then leg quarters out last.

Much more consistent results than smoking the whole bird.

Today, I'm most thankful for things like this. You couldnt make this shit up:

Go Cowboys. Go Longhorns. Heck, go Horned Frogs too. Yea Thanksgiving

See I knew my dogs could eat the insides!!! My friend told me it would make them go wild if I fed them raw meat. Although I do worry about one of my dogs because she's vicious LOL! Gotta love guard dogs!
