How 'Bout Them Cowboys!!
What the Hell !!
No Haters? No Blue Kool-Aid drinkers? They just got one step closer to the Super Bowl and not one Prop or 'they got lucky?! ....Nada
I know, I know, everyone is sad about this news and that our dynasty days of the last 16 years is over...Oh well, it was a good run?
http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=9854353
Someone please tell me, how the fuck do you overpay for MEDIOCRITY?!
My feeling is the marketing genius owner will figure out some way to put a lower quality product on the field next year after another mediocre season and still raise tickets prices!!
How can you be 13 million over the 2nd worst team over the salary cap ?!
And if anyone wants to discuss the victory over the EagLETTES, go ahead.
This whole NFL season is getting weird, hard to tell who will win week to week. I may have to start betting on PeeWee Football if I can't make more money betting games this year.

Love the Cowboys! I hope that they continue to win instead of the win one, lose one streak of going 8-8 as in previous years.

+1
Almost like certain games or plays are staged....
My best so far has been straight bets against the teams I think will win.

What's becoming evident these last few games is we're seeing contributions on the field by most of this year's draft class. It's noteworthy because that has not been the case around here since...forever.
Terrance Williams is getting better every game and Cole Beasley (last year's addition) gets open and moves the sticks (Miles Austin, I hope you banked that contract, pal.....your days are numbered). There are others.....maybe a tackle for a loss on 3rd down or a pass completion being broken up......small things but significant just the same.
I'm not saying these rooks are candidates for Canton anytime soon however each one is beginning to look like they can actually play at this level. And the guys they're putting out there on defense (that weren't drafted) are stepping up, as well, making plays.
Next week marks the half-way point of the schedule (Detroit Lions) and that's a winnable game if the arrow continues to go up for this defense. While W's versus this lousy division (Washington and Philly these past 2 weeks), it's important to stack wins in Oct and Nov no matter who the competition is.
And, again, the continued growth from the younger players (who we're still learning their names)over the second half of the schedule is going to be critical if they want to be playing games come January.

The Cowboys are 3 - 0 against the other teams in the East, aka the worst division in pro football (maybe the worst in a very long time). They are 1 - 3 against other teams. They very well might make it to the playoffs by winning this horrific division, but the fun ends there. The division is 5 - 12 versus outside team with the wins coming against powerhouses like St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Oakland and Minnesota. The Redskins win against Chicago is the only one that was against a team that will not finish at the bottom of their division. So tap the brakes, hard.

As long as there is someone named Jones running the day to day operations, this team will remain average at best.

Update NFC EAST now 5 - 14 vs. rest of league, Dallas 1 - 4 outside the division. The good news is they still have 3 games against the East and 2 games against last place teams (Minnesota and Oakland). If they sweep their winnable games (unlikely) they finish 9 - 7. More likely is another season of 8 - 8. This year 8 - 8 should be good enough to win this division. This means they will most likely host San Francisco in the first round and lose. Hey, at least it is the playoffs.

Which will further delude Jerry and Stephen Jones into believing this season was a success.......and decisions they make in running this franchise are perfectly fine.
Take a look at the other seven divisions throughout the NFL......if they were in any other division, they'd be 1.5 to 4.0 games out of first place.......completely out of playoff contention no matter the scenario....except in the pitiful....the God-awful NFC Least.
Let's be realistic. This season is already shaping up to be (another) dismal failure. Watching this team attempt to play defense is brutal. Schemes don't tackle nor cover wide-open receivers....."talented football players" do. And Dallas has only one (Sean Lee) on that side of the ball. Mo Claiborne is starting to look like another first round wash out.

Just make the playoffs! That's all that matters. We'd have a home game, and Dallas has played well at home this year (mostly). Anything can happen in the playoffs, and it's not how good you are that matters, it's how well you are playing.
What pisses me off is once again our defense is getting ravaged by injuries (not to mention any decent quarterback). It's part of the game, but damn we just can't stay healthy on that side of the ball.
But I have hope! We must split the next two games at least, then get to the bye and get healthier. Romo normally kicks ass in November, so maybe we go on a run.
