Post Transgender Bathroom Access (Texas)

The Transgender Bathroom Access fight (highlighted in Texas now) has got to be the silliest fight in the nation...

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/tex...D=ansmsnnews11

Really simple solution:
  1. Single stall bathroom (anybody - generic)
  2. Public restrooms (anybody - generic)
For public restrooms that means no more MENS or WOMENS, just one big restroom all the same - "if you can stand up an shoot, use the urinal - if you need to squat, take a stall"...

There - I'm sure congress is spending millions researching possible solutions... I just saved the company millions and all the transgender folks can relax. Every bathroom I've seen that's public, the stalls are still private so what's the big deal?

Was it Bismarck who said "Only a fool learns from his own mistakes. A wise man learns from other's mistakes." Texas obviously fits into the first category having failed to learn from NC's mistakes.

well we are talking about the same state that the Governor, whether or not he actually believed it or was doing it as a political stunt for publicity, had the Texas national Guard monitoring US military activity in Texas because he was afraid Texas was going to be invaded by the US military.

Hasn't shown to possess much wisdom, yet. Hopefully, enough smart people still have a hold on some strings and prevent this from coming to pass.

Classic reactionary law making. I'm not certain but transgendered people make up less than a percent of the population. Let's make a law for them though! Not to mention that dudes, looking like ladies, have been using the ladies rooms for years! No big deal. Has there been a ladies room transgendered rape epidemic that no one knew about until now? No. The answer is, no.

Conservatismis a valid point of view. However, this is just ultra right wing foolishness that cost people money. It needs to stop.

It's a shame about North Carolina ..... they could have been the first state to pass the legislation to ban this idiocy and stand up to the gays and transgenders and say "enough!" ..... but they caved in when the screaming began ..... maybe Texas will get it right and show the other states how it's done ..... pass the law that says you will use the men's bathroom if you were born a male or the women's bathroom if you were born a female ..... either that or you can just shut up and go shit behind a tree ..... and it's not really the "ultra right wing foolishness" that needs to stop ..... it's letting transgendered people bullying their beliefs by threatening state legislatures with lawsuits until they force their will into law when the majority of the people obviously oppose it, that needs to stop..... just once, why don't states stand up to these idiots and pass laws making common sense the rule of law? .....

Because common sense says not to make laws for a group that makes up less than a percent of the population for doing something they have always done and have yet to cause any damage doing. More over, implementation of laws cost money. Implementation of bad laws cost even more money in attorneys, lawsuits and other b.s.

All of that is without considering the very real effect on the general economy.

It's very easy to believe non sense when it doesn't cost any money. When it begins to cost money, it needs to stop. Let people piss and shit in whatever bathroom they want. Don't take money from my wallet.

Out of curiosity, where do you stand on "common sense" gun control?

New open carry law? If I see ever a man walk in with an open carry gun showing in a store, restaurant or anywhere I would want to escort that person over to a corner, make him sit on a stool and wear a dunce hat and think about it for a couple of hours.

I'd still like to know 00 gauges stance on common sense gun control. I may be assuming too much, but I doubt 00 gauge feels that there is such thing as common sense gun control.

My point being that it is inconsistent logic to say yes to common sense bathroom law but no to common sense gun law.

If he thinks does think there should be common sense gun laws, well at least that is consistent.

My ECCIE Reviews
Lightbulb

It would be amazing to see more open minded and empathetic business owners leading by example when it comes to the establishments they operate. Dryades Public Market in New Orleans has gender neutral single stall bathrooms on the first floor and gendered bathrooms on the second floor.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this when I went to their grand opening last Spring. And of course, having trans friendly bathrooms does nothing to take away from the overall grocery shopping experience. It's a meaningful change that goes a long way with helping to ensure the safety of transgender people.

Grean to answer your question I have worked several of the gun shows that regularly come to San Antonio ..... I'm a firm believer that the 2nd Amenment is for a gun owner to be able to protect his family and his property ..... and yes I'm a member of the NRA ..... and I've seen many young military men and women attend those shows who have titanium arms and legs ..... I've discussed guns with them and they are the most patriotic suns of bitches who never regretted their service and would gladly do it again if called upon ..... however, with that being said, I'm not totally convinced that "common sense gun control" isn't an oxymoron .....you can't take gun owners rights away, but at the same time how do you deal with lunatics or lawless citizens who demand their rights to own an assault rifle? ..... I'm afraid that conservatives will never give up their rights concerning guns while liberals would love nothing more than to enact legislation banning any and all guns to private citizens ..... I don't think anyone proposing changes by law would ever be able to find a happy medium common ground, so I highly doubt that "common sense gun control" is a remote possibility..... although for the record I'm a conservative, I voted for Trump, I strongly believe in a person's right to own a gun, although personally I myself have never owned one ..... anyway that's my thoughts, I know it rambled on some, but I hope it answered your question .....

So what I think you are saying, please correct me otherwise, is that you don't have an issue with "common sense gun control" in as much as it would prevent lunatics and criminals from having guns. Laws that prevent lawful citizens from bearing arms you are against, correct?

It should be based on the part you have....

you have a dick...go to mens bathroom.

No dick...women's

Why are they making it so difficult?

Unisex public bathrooms will never work. There will be too many rape cases...no women will feel safe going into a bathroom.

Or do like many of the malls and movie theaters are doing now...mens/womens/single family bathroom for the freaks and baby diaper changers.

There has been more politicians arrested for lewd behavior in bathrooms than transgender people.

I'm just saying...

Oh? Got a source on that? I'm just saying that sounds like a made up fact.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick says that the Restroom bill is a top priority for Texas lawmakers. That's a quote. So it's much more important than say laws regarding texting while driving (which kills people and cause millions of dollars in damages).
My question is: How are they going to enforce this law?

Patrick looks like he would be the kind to volunteer to be a pee-pee checker.
