Speeding
Soooo...got my another speeding ticket...won't say where, let's just say they start clocking at 1 mile over. Funniest thing is it happened in a rental that as I find out is a favorite of youngins for racing (rhymes with lord fuk'us). Not my car, which I thought would blow circles around it, but a tiny skittish little thing with a penchant for zipping faster than it appears.
Which brings to mind the question, what's the fastest anybody's been clocked at? I was zapped around 94, though I know I was over 100.

A long time ago I did the run on IH 10 from Loop 410 here to Loop 610 in Houston in just under two hours. It was done in the early morning from about 0200 to 0400. The car used was a 1979 Pontiac Bonneville, a full size GM product. Rode solid as a rock. Very little traffic at that time so I went by pretty much unnoticed. Although there was some chatter on the CB radio about it.

135 on the I-90 floating bridge across Lake Washington going east out of the tunnel. Cop saw me at a gas station in Issaquah, told me he saw me and how fast I was going... I said nope not me and I knew he couldn't prove it... I remained calm and played nice while he was threatening to run me in. In the end he scolded me and I went home feeling very lucky.
So much for being 'sure' no one would see me there... oh, it was ~3:30 AM. I just wanted to see how fast my new ride would go. It was a '97 Cobra with some enhancements. Loved that car.

Well, my usual is a 535i which I've have made the SA/valley run in 3 hours flat, but never a ticket in that. I think it's the irony (and slight embarrassment) of getting an expensive ticket in such a small car. I'd take a ticket in your car dennisrn anyday.
Mokoa, I used to have a 69' Chevelle Malibu (don't have anymore, long sad story) that I put to the test from SA to the Hillcountry one day after I put in a new exhaust. Nothing like the classics...though I get the feeling you bought that new

I can relate to the sad story. I had a 1969 Pontiac Ram Air IV that I used to terrorize lower Wacker Drive with. Good times. Had to sell it when I moved.
I did buy the Bonneville brand new. However, at the time I did that particular IH10 run that car was already fifteen years old and had just over 70,000 miles on it. You take good care of your car and it will take good care of you.

Dallas to Vegas solo in 14 hours, 98 Mustang GT. Got clocked at 122 in New Mexico on the return trip. You can't outrun a radio.

My ECCIE Reviews

Going 48 on 410 heading home after a 14hr shift...sick as a dog with the flu and high on cold medicine. Got stopped and ticketed for a dwi after swerving into the next lane when I dropped my tissue. (sniff sniff) One of those days that I should have just stayed in bed!!

158 on a rice burning Suzuki Gsx-r 750- the NY Troopers just closed off the toll booths and waited for me to exit or die.- now that was a surprise to me--a very unwelcome one.

unfortunaly the new camaro is electronically limited to 118 mph stock. i was coming home from work on i10 at about 11 at night. cop saw me and clocked me at 118. at that point i was like im going to jail. pulled over had the gun pointed at me , read my rights handcuffed me. at that point he was like WTF? i just told him i had just bought the car and wanted to see what it could do. after that we talked about cars for 30 mins and he gave me this big ol lecture. i just sat there, cooperated and listened. so basically i got super lucky. he let me go, after i showed him the new car. said he was thinking about buying one too. ha.

98 in a 55 zone on 410.
Long story short, after some incident involved in the process of the officer fixing to give me a ticket (I was not that incident) he said "Congratulations. This is your lucky day. You are going to be a Witness."
And than there was one of my many trips from H-Town where I always got here under 2 hours. Passed a DPS Mustang at 114-118mph. He didn't even move.
