yes, it is a particularly egregious example, but.. you know it's true.. girls and women of any age can not walk the streets without fear of assault.. and you rarely see females out alone in non-crowded public spaces. it's too damn dangerous.

it doesn't have to be this way.. it's not in many countries. why we have accepted this here, is perplexing.. I never hear this issue discussed.

I think you are right.. unfortunately.. until we get a huge cultural shift that makes it unfathomable to commit acts of violence, this is what needs to be done.

the many Countries that don't accept acts of violence with such willingness, punish offenders swiftly and aggressively.. we don't.. California especially.

I hate reading stuff like this. It pisses me the hell off that animals out there act like this, but there isn't anything I can do about it. But I do agree we have the right to defend ourselves and many times our criminal justice system is way too soft on violent scum like this.

Nothing will change. It is human nature. Women will be attacked and rape: It is as old as civilization. Not only here in the US but everywhere. Everywhere.

Now, a good solution is for women to FIGHT back and kill the SOB attackers. Coldly and with finality. All the women know the rules ( Be aware, walk in groups, etc ) but a concealed handgun will stop the attacker.

Get over the preciousness of life. There are any number of people out there who do not deserve to live. Rapists, pedophiles, murderers, are just the top of the list.

I applaud women who take control of their safety and well being. Predators will only back down when met with superior force.
