The Price of Eggs
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...-b2617527.html
Quote:
“Looking at the prices here, things are way too expensive and they’re way too expensive because of Kamala Harris’s policies,” he told shoppers.
He was interrupted by his son, who pointed at the egg cartons behind him. “Let’s talk about eggs,” Vance continued. “Because these guys actually eat about 14 eggs every single morning,” the Ohio senator said, pointing to his sons.
“Eggs, when Kamala Harris took office, were short of $1.50 a dozen. Now a dozen eggs will cost you around $4. Thanks to Kamala Harris’s inflationary policies, Pennsylvania actually has seen some of the worst grocery price increases of the entire nation, and again, it’s because she cast a deciding what vote on the inflation explosion act.”
|
He was at a supermarket, holding a 24 pack of eggs. Behind him, are various eggs on sale, and a 12 pack of eggs cost 2.99 according to the damn sticker that he's standing in front of.
Something something the emperor's new clothes...

Before someone points out Well what he meant was...
He was...
- Discussing the price of a 12 pack, while he was waving around a 24 pack
- He said the price of a dozen eggs is around $4. This is undeniably incorrect
- The price for 12 eggs, which are right behind him, cost $2.99
Man is downright retarded.

what's odd is that I was just at WalMart and Eggs are up again in price- I think I paid 3.19 or something, but they are not the price of days gone by. I'd heard that there was another avian flu and eggs were testing positive for salmonella. If it aint one thing it's another.
I am sure there is no 'conspiracy' on the eggs or a sodapop policy of the administration, but I'm not so sure I cannot say the same of both the manufacturers and retailers of the same products.
If El Trumpo were to get re-elected, I have SERIOUS doubt that he could affect those same groups I've mentioned- they are in it for themselves and squeezing as many dollars out of the public as they can- one penny or a dollar at a time. This country has gone from making modest profits to gouging the eyes out of anyone with a sheckle to spend.

Eggs were 89 cents a dozen under Trump. Gas was $2.30 in Pa, $1.90 in Ohio and WVa. Inflation isn’t going down. The RATE of growth is slowing down.
CPI is an imperfect way to measure inflation. I guess it’s the best they got.

Cool. I didn't bring up Trump or what anything cost under his term. I am specifically talking about what Vance said about the price of eggs, and how he says one thing while standing next to a sign that says literally the opposite. How disconnected from reality he is.
Nothing about Trump. We know how inept he is and how much he needs defending, but this isn't about him. It's about how JD Vance the college drag queen is wrong when talking about the price of 12 eggs, while standing next to a sign that says how much they actually cost, while holding 24 eggs as an example.

Your title IS the price of eggs. They’re 100% more expensive today. That’s a fact Owby. You picked a bad topic to try and make a point. It just illustrates how expensive things are under Harris. Of course it was going to backfire on you.

Even taking what you just posted as accurate, you do see the "adjusted for 2022" dollars, right?"

I love eggs. I could buy them at ALDIs for .89 cents a dozen in 2020.
Trump was POTUS in 2020, when eggs were affordable
