Default Should North Florida be split into multiple regions/metropolitan areas?

I started a thread on this topic in Member Suggestions and Forum Requests.

I have suggested this multiple times with no to little action. I firmly believe we need the North Florida section split into the two following categories-- Jacksonville/Gainesville/First Coast and the Redneck Riviera (Tally, Panama City, P'Cola and Dothan, AL). If it is east of I-75, it should be in the Jax area; west of I-75-- the Panhandle area.

That would be quite helpful.

we are lucky to have a north florida section to begin with.

many guys on here have entire states in a single forum. FL is split up into 3 sections which is very helpful..

not going against your idea but just saying we can't complain too much here

If it's not to much trouble to split the panhandle from NE florida going forward that would make a world of difference.... Jax/gainesville/st augustine is a separate time zone from the panhandle... and it's very cumbersome being lumped together...

I'm certainly "for it" - and the timezone line would probably make a good natural boundary. I can't speak for the whole range - but in the vicinity of I-10, there's really not much there except the invisible dotted line and a bit of a river. I doubt it would cause any confusion for people who live close to the line. If there are any?

Yes, but I see more providers working Tally and other cities in the panhandle rather than working cities to the east.

The timezone line is certainly something that all of us who live in the area are familiar with. Plus, for visitors, it would be easier than trying to remember the geography. They
will know which timezone they are in, even if they don't know the location of where some specific town happens to be.

I would think Tallahassee and panhandle would be one zone, and Jacksonville, St augustine, gainesville North East florida would be the other zone...

Tally is so hard to define. It is in the Eastern Time Zone, but it is closer to Panama City than Jax or Gainesville. Hell, it is 90 minutes from Tally just to get to I-75 and then another hour to Jax or Gainesville. PC is only 2 hours from Tally. Heck, it is easier for someone in PC to go to Tally to see a girl than it is to go to P'Cola.

I think management is more likely to see postings in the other thread on this subject in General Interest > Member Suggestions and Forum Requests, so I suggest you post there and subscribe to that thread. That's where St. C replied saying it was doable.

This topic has been brought up before. I think as our area grows there might be a reason to split our area even more but as it stands now it just works. Like someone else already mention. We already got FL split up into 3 section, do we really need 4? Hope this answer any question on the topic.
