Would a Meet & Greet work in New Orleans?

There is currently a discussion on the Mississippi board about a theoretical meet and greet. I am curious how hobbyists on this board feel about the idea of a Meet and Greet. Not if you would attend, but whether you think it is a good idea in the first place. I would love to hear opinions from both sides of the aisle. What are your concerns? Have you ever attended one?

I wouldn't mind. It would get a chance to meet providers personally before you book. Some people's personalities just click better.

No. There is tooo much going on in Louisiana with people getting busted everywhere and just recently there was a cop exposed on Eccie.Please don't.
1.You never know when someone at the event will take pictures{they can secretly take them and look like they are texting}
2.people can be seen by other local people at a public gathering place and wonder why Bob is at the local bar and grill in the corner with a group of people.The local bar hopper/s goes over to Bob and starts a conversation because they know Bob. awkward.
3.Somone passed by the local gathering spot and recognizes Bob's vehicle and calls the wife.
4.Too many unforeseen circumstances could go wrong even if you are innocently meeting strangers for a drink.

Nope. Never want too many people knowing what I look like. Discretion is EVERYTHING in this biz. They've had them in the past. Never went, never will.

I would love to meet some of the more outspoken ladies from the board, but I agree security would have to be essential.

There we had a committee of Hobbyists and Providers.
All potential attendees requested an invitation via e-mail or PM.
The committee vetted each person requesting an invitation.

Anyone not approved by the committee can not and must not be allowed to attend.
You are asking for trouble if old "so & so" shows up with "what's his face" and says - "he's a good guy, I'll vouch for him".

Face it the Providers have the experience of screening.
They also have a good chance of knowing another Provider who wishes to attend.
One of the Hobbyists most often will have met with at least one of the Providers wishing to attend.

As JAG stated the actions of all who attend is also crucial to the security of the event.

The M&G is a SOCIAL event.
It is a chance to meet other members of the board.
You can find out if the person matches their board persona.
Hobbyists can determine IF you wish to pursue an appointment with the Provider.
Providers can determine IF they wish to accept an appointment with the Hobbyist.
However, this must be discussed at some other time and place than at the M & G.
"Business" discussions and "slipping away for some fun" are what caused the trouble at the Houston party.

There is nothing illegal about a bunch of folks who are members of a discussion board getting together and meeting face to face once in a while and sharing a drink or some food.

Please take my comments as opinion or experience, and it is worth every penny you have paid for it.

I have been to 4 or 5 m&g thru the years, I thought I met you at one on magazine st. Bar many years ago? Maybe it was someone else....

I agree with biomed1 methods, in fact I met him at one of the Mississippi gulf coast m&g. I understand if anyone doesn't want to attend due to security issues but a discussion group meeting in person is not a crime and there are no illegal activities during these eventS it's just some people meeting for a social get together. We can just call ourselves insurance agents or whatever. How many times I have seen groups gather at public places and it's not an issue.

The meeting place is not publicly posted only given out to screened attendees.

I would be in for going if my schedule allows.

Count me in.

Biggest Sting Meet and Greet that brought a empire to it's knees.
ASPD Meet and Greet ended in disaster.
People involved in the meet and greet had their pictures on the newspapers/media News and some were not doing anything wrong.
A reminder,COPS DON'T CARE, they will still falsely arrest you especially in todays world.
Look at the owner of backpage being denied bail and sits in jail till the court hearing. All the money he has is not getting him a free pass.

The problem that can go sideways is a member on here being invited to one of those meet and greets and he is police.

A proven fact that police are on eccie and they have many reviews.

Bustygirl "Amber" who founded aspd.net died early December 2009. About 10 years ago, I had a lot of good discussion with her on keeping escorts safe and many aspects of the business.

The name aspd was a play on the old alt.sex.prostitution discussion news group I was active on before there were such things as web pages. Back in the days of 300 baud modems and packet readers for than only newsgroups.

Sadly ironic within days of her death, Houston police infiltrated Aspd.net and their Christmas party:
HPD’s Vice Division says those who attended….. heard about the party here. ... on a sight called ASPD.NET. It is a place where members…, (who must first be invited and then verified) can chat about Houston escorts and write reviews. It is also a site where warnings are posted about police activity…., and which escorts can be trusted. but….. HPD infiltraded the site… became members themselves.

At the party, HPD undercover officers tell us they were able to obtain enough evidence to charge 12-people with prostitution.,

HPD’s Vice Division is using the site to gather information…, and since last weeks raid it has been conducting prostitution stings at hotels and motels all over our city. HPD says it has collected names, and will be making additional arrests soon.
