Shows up as a generic billing site. Your cc will probably send you a fraud alert before it will process it. Pitfalls…many scammers. I was blackmailed because I let my guard down. That being said I met some great people over the 8 years I was on it.
Use a e mail address that you only use for that and cant be traced to your personal life and use a burner phone or text app for same reason. The phone is how he got me. My stupidity.

AFF is being taken back over by the founder. However, the site was engaged in fraudulent business practices just before the management shift this spring so it remains to be seen if they dismissed the unsavory elements. I used a virtual cc number and disputed the phony charges. Eventually the CC company prevailed. After the conversion of management, they gave me and it seems quite a few others a year of free gold as compensation without an apology.

There are plenty of user scammers as are on most dating sites. They usually don’t pay for gold as it’s expensive but AFF is a brick without the options gold provides. We just don’t even consider non-paying members and that reduced the headaches. Also, check out the community section. It’s a very vibrant and unique collection of groups and blogs covering a wide array of topics including some amazing art.
