I would like to keep this a serious discussion. I do have a question. What made me think about it is something that happened recently, but this has happened at other times as well.

Now the question:

Why does it seem that many people who become moderators of THIS "hobby" board take the job of moderator beyond being JUST a mod and start to look at themselves as the "hobby police", in charge of things that happen outside of the board in the "real world"?

It really depends on who you think a Mod is in your own mind..as opposed to who a Mod is In actuality on this board...some may think some arent cuz..oh they just over see provider ads and the powder room..and are pretty laid back in general....but you know what...SUPRISE!!!!!!

oh and btw..when stuff is dropped in my lap..like it has been as of recent..I got to deal with it. and if your name comes up..your gonna get contacted...
I dont usually go sniffin things out like you may think I do..not a dog contrary to popular belief.. however..thanks to those that have implied as such...
although there are some cute doggies out there!!

Most mods do not believe they are the hobby police. Its worse several turn into the de facto pimps in their area. The p had several mods that conducted themselves that way. By pimps I mean . . . getting the ladies to give them free sessions, discounted sessions for their friends, and not allowing the ladies to screen these friends, etc . . . Sounds like pimping to me.

As to this comment .... well, I've been looking for an opportunity to say this for awhile:

ANY Mod who takes advantage of ANY woman by misusing any small bit of influence that they might have on this board is a scumbag that needs to be dealt with most harshly.

I agreed to be a Mod because I LIKE this board and because I LOVE this hobby and the women in it.

Mods are here to help members and to keep the board running smoothly. I believe that most of us feel that way. If you don't agree.... make your feelings known. But please do so fairly and factually. Don't lump all Mods together as a group. Treat us and judge us as individuals.

I agreed to be a mod because I have enjoyed connecting with many wonderful providers and for the opportunity to work with and get to know others better!

It amazes me that there is so much drama that takes place and I will never consider myself a member of the "hobby police." I know that as moderators we do have a responsibility to communicate concerns with individuals when issues arise and unfortunately if guidelines are violated we have a responsibility to address that.

As for the issues that happen outside of the board, in the "real world," if they are brought onto the board then they need to be addressed.

I PERSONALLY have grave concerns when individuals harass, intimidate, stalk, or disrespect others outside of this forum but there isn't anything that I can do BUT when individuals do that here ... then it is a violation of guidelines, and rather then post them here, I would encourage folks to review them.

You mean to tell me Anita, that you are a mod over mens sections of the board as well..... Hmmmm, that was not what we were told when they made you a mod. As a mater of fact I remember quite clearly, we were guaranteed you had no duties concerning the men or any other section's outside of the powder room or advertising areas. Maybe some men should be put in charge of the powder room. I wonder how well that would go over. Not so well I would imagine. If I remember, there was quite a stink over that issue some time ago.

GP...our local powder room does have male mods along with female mods. The National powder room is the only spot for us that no men are supposedly allowed.

lol..GP..come on now..im just waking up and i find this to be silly..and yes..male mods are in the powderroom..so now what do you want gp..what is it your trying to get out in the open...i am not in your lockerroom..i cant do a thing about the reviews. and i cant read the bcd stuff either..you could say i look like a big fatt giant goober in there and i wouldnt know..if something happens in the co-ed i have been cleared to do what needs to be done if one of the others cant get to it...like leaking of locations..and someone putting out clients tele numbers in open forums..yes..i will do what needs to be done to make sure that info is removed..however..i do not abuse this..and its cleared first...hope that helps clear things up..

Funny we have male mods in our room but no lady mods allowed in the LR? Interesting...

Yeah, I am uncomfortable with that too. Doesn't seem right. If the guys have their privacy, the ladies should have theirs.

But none of us should kid ourselves. It is ALL leaked. Very disappointing.

Though I may have access to the PR I do not respond or comment because I defer to Anita which is only appropriate.

The issue of leaking, based on what i have read, it may happen and honestly when it is determined how or the individual(s) that are doing it is I would expect that they will take an extended vacation from this board! But more importantly I would HOPE that individual members would ostracize them because they are hurting EVERYONE here!

Thats just my personal opinion!
