2:00 am shut down for Dallas SOB's

Morning news reported Dallas will start enforcing the 2am to 6am shut down for all SOB's. So after hours clubs, adult video stores, clubs staying open late, will all be effected. Expect yet another lawsuit against the City.

Would expect to see an influx at afterhours clubs in Tarrant County. If the Dallas ordinance stands up in court, expect other counties and cities to enact similar laws.

I go to Chicas Locas reguarly, they've been renovating another section of their building and signage up about 2am-5am BYOB coming soon. That won't be happening. I can only imagine the money they lost with construction and reno if they'll never be able to use that space

The unintended consequence of closing SOBs at 2AM is that everything that was happening in the SOBs after last call will be pushed into the ho-tels. Listcrawler will be hopping around closing time. I guess the city has decided that the overflow will be the hotel management’s problem, not theirs.

Maybe CL could open that side up as a bed and breakfast? They’ve got the same zoning as the ho-tel around the corner.

Someone made the observation to me this will have a big impact of the regular clubs as well. I know some stay open past 2 on the weekends. I guess they make their money on cover changes, tip outs, and food. Alcohol service stops at 2am and bottles, etc have to be gone by 2:15. I am sure they stay open because they still make money but do you think the 2am closing may be the breaking point for any of the regular strip clubs?

I can see some of the BYOB after-hours clubs going under as they just lost their prime hours.

So some of he folks who usually hang around strip clubs that stay open late on Friday and Saturday like Men's Club of Dallas or Buck's Cabaret, they will migrate to regular non SOB clubs like Red River that is open til 3 am 5 days a week or to the cluster of club off Lombardy and 35:


Club 2000, Escapade 2009, Escapade 2001, Escapade 2010 which don't open til 8 pm and stay open til 3 and 3:30


Also I think the city of Dallas definition of SOB, Sexually Oriented Business, sure it include adult video stores as written in the ordnance

The City of Dallas passed Ordinance No. 32125 in 2022. The Ordinance requires licensed SOBs, such as cabarets, escort agencies, and adult video stores, to close between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m..

but in the case of Dallas, I think they are specifically going after strip clubs

Man Texas is becoming more and more like a communistic country these days................Govt telling you what you can and cant do...............except guns (I support responsible 2A rights)........I heard they are lowering the gun owning age to 14 in Texas. Soon every 9th grader can get a gun with his license!


You people down there better do something about your radical right wing govt............before they start setting up camps for all those rounded up...................remember the camps in Germany didn't just take the Jews...........they held EVERYONE the party didn't like/ feared!

Thanks for the clarification. I did mean regular strip clubs, not the dance halls.

Anybody else find it funny that this law only affects strip clubs and other SOB's and not like dance clubs or bars that have after hours or stay open until 4am

I don’t see why it couldn’t happen. The ordinances are on sexually oriented businesses. You have no idea how many damn bars and clubs are open in that Northwest Dallas area until six and seven in the morning. Some clubs up there don’t even open until two. What they’re going to do is turn that area into a late night Cantina. Which by the way, there are plenty of in the area That don’t close until the sun comes up.
